Norcal Invasion - August 27 & 28 Sac Raceway
I must've been under a rock as I didn't know about this event until the cruise.
The first year of this for the North and a little something for everyone!
CRUISE, DRAG RACING & CAR SHOW!
http://norcalinvasion.com
You must sign up in advance for whatever you are participating in! (e.g. Car Show, Racing 1 or 2 days, Pit Crew, etc.)
NOTE: There is a "Best 3rd Gen F body" award for those with "show" vehicles.
I'm in for some racing at least! WHO'S WITH ME??
If we had a good majority going to an event, we should plan to meet up!

You must have missed it Ant, otherwise your initial response would've had much more enthusiasm.
I would've thought you'd be into the car show portion Will, the bikini models making Sunday a plus fo sho. One of your WCGMP buddies mentioned it to me.

They have yet to update several things on the site including the cruise looks like.
I think I want to go for racing Sat night and then just spectate at the car show/races on Sunday.

Re: Norcal Invasion - August 27 & 28 Sac Raceway
If it's stupid hot I prolly won't make it. It's miserable in the car when it's really hot out. But maybe I can crash up that way Sat night, and drive over early Sunday before it gets too hot. Head back later Sunday night. I'd like to show the iroc. Since I won't be able to tune it before then, I doubt I'd race it. Anyone know if these are the same guys that put on LA invasion?

They have a nearby hotel reference on the site in Rancho too.

Megs and I will most likely be attending for both days. It's a good thing the car show season isn't year round, I can't afford many more trips like this. But then again, it's hard to say no when it seems like lately more and more people are coming out of the woodwork. Looking forward to this.

Mine runs lol just had some fun leaving marks around town in it a couple weeks ago. Had to give my uncle from Canada a ride in it. I am thinking of getting a second electric fan in the sucker though, started to run a bit too warm for me.

Re: Norcal Invasion - August 27 & 28 Sac Raceway
its back together. I think my valves might be too tight cuz it won't fire. Fuel, spark are there, timing is in the ballpark, but not firing yet. Gone thru grounds and wiring. All connectors are secured. Running outta things to check. So ima back the valves out a quarter turn at a time to see if anything changes.
Side note... How do u do double.quotes.. I wanted to reply to EvilCartman also.

next to the quote button is a ++ button you press that on one person you wanna quote, then again on another, then when your actually ready to respond. you click quote on the last person you pressed ++ too and it'll quote them both.
Yup so if you have fuel, spark, then it is a compression problem so the valves being too tight is likely. are you getting any combustion or just nothing? What I mean is any sort of fire. You'll get her done in no time

Yeah, I can hear it firing off in the headers since they.are open at the moment. I should have it running in the nxt couple weeks depending on work/family schedule. Then putting up loose ends on it and get it ready for the street again.
Nice pic in ur signature. Car looks good there
Thanx for the lesson in quoting.......

Thanks about the picture. I thought so too.
You welcome for the quoting lesson. It took me awhile to realize that too.
I think your timing is not as close as it needs to be to fire. play with the timing some more

Haha, I'm not losing and sleep or holding my breath over it either. Y'all know I try my best to get out to events with or without my 3rd gen.
Been a crazy past few months and haven't had more than a few minutes here and there to think about the GTA, but I'll be glad when I'm back in it.
I've been trying to put a little $ away this year so I can hopefully finish up some plans for it and then finally paint once it runs right.
Lookin' fwd to seein' y'all in a month for this!

Re: Norcal Invasion - August 27 & 28 Sac Raceway
Are you having custom parts made? Are they on national backorder? Discontinued?
42lb injectors have been in awhile now and I have a newly coated blower pulley that should further help reduce slippage.
Have a brake vacuum pump that needs to go in, a blow off valve to somehow be welded on and a heat shield for my starter.
My new alum radiator doesn't fit depth wise because of the custom made supercharger bracket, so that's going to take some ingenuity.
Then I need to find some tuner time for a street then dyno tune. There's probably more, but I'm getting old and have forgotten.
Quality work takes time!

Hey guys, Megs and I will be sitting this one out. We're going on vacation for 2 weeks prior and with the rental car and a slip for the boat it's costing more and more haha. So we gotta trim the fat somewhere. Take lots of pics and I hope to get up that one in the fall when things settle down a bit.

That's Bennies favorite line. Charity cases usually take forever, let me know when you get tired of waiting. Haha
