new wheels possibly :)
I been thinking real hard about which wheels to fit my iroc, so I think I found a good set, I ordered one 18x9.5" wheel to fit against my car and make sure I like it on my car before I pull the trigger on a full set.
This is it.
Should be here tuesday or wednesday!
its a direct fit, no spacers needed, 3" dish rear.
if I like them, i will get 8" wide fronts with a 1.5" dish.
gun metal grey with polished lip.
Anyone have a lead on brushed aluminum or maybe painted grey/black to match lugnuts?

Re: new wheels possibly :)
Nice wheel. Put the 9.5s on the front & go even wider on the back. Dunno if you have a 4th gen rear (or a 9" that is 4th gen width.....You can fit a 11" very easily. 11" on a 3rd gen rear just takes a little more work, that's all.

Re: new wheels possibly :)
not much of a track car, so I wanna stick with a 8" front and maintain a staggered stance.
and they dont make them any wider then 9.5" in 18's and I run a thirdgen axle so the dish will fit real well.
and when i go 9", it will be thirdgen length
these are 20mm offset

Re: new wheels possibly :)
Damn how did I miss those wheels in that thread, I thought I was going to have another first
and T- of coarse I "plan" for big breaks, just not anytime soon lol.
Probably am going with modified hubs, and then whatever big rotor will fit, but ill need to do more research first.

Re: new wheels possibly :)
Why buy brakes that fit in a 17" wheel, only to put bigger wheels on & discover you coulda gotten even bigger/better brakes for only a few bucks more?
Or buy brakes too big for the current car & have it fit on jackstands until you buy bigger wheels?

Re: new wheels possibly :)
Get the wheels situated then order the biggest brakes that'll fit and fill out the wheels nicely!

Have you checked out his mods? I think brakes would be the best bet right now. and safest.

Re: new wheels possibly :)
I just got my wheels on tonight, I went with some 84 vette wheels, I am sticking with the cfi, c3 1/2 corvette idea(in my head, the 82 transam has lines close to the c4 corvette, and the same fuel injection system) I took the opportunity to put my 12 year old to work, she will not be that chick(or man) on the side of the road waiting for a towtruck.

I have 18x9.5 all for corners and no rubbing nor spacers. Thats what I would do with those wheels for the aggressive look with 1 1/2in drop. What size tires?

Re: new wheels possibly :)
I know my tire sizing well.
the rears are 27.1" tall
and the fronts are 25.6" tall
but such is life when the nt05R's smallest 18" diameter is the size I chose and the tallest front tire is also what I chose. I could go 275 up front for a closer in ratio size but thats too wide for a front tire for a comfortable lock to lock size in my opinion.

they might need hub centric rings on the front, just a heads up. They look great though, if i buy aftermarket wheels I would definitely get some tsws

Re: new wheels possibly :)
The standard tire size 245/50/16 is 25.7 diameter. A 275/35/18 is 25.7 diameter and that what I'm using up front on my Camaro. The rear is 285/35/18 with 26.0 diameter. With 3.73 gears and a RS T5 .63 5th gear ratio, my speedometer is accurate. 80mph at 2500rpm. No rubbing from lock to lock. Your car is going to sit up high.
i dont think ill sit high, i have eibachs on it and if the rear sits too high compared to the front, ill remove the coil spring isolators for a piece of rubber hose instead.
re reading your post. if your using a 275/35/18 without rubbing issue, Ill see if my 9.5 will fit the front with its 20mm offset.
is your car lowered any?

The front. No spacers on all 4 corners.
Rear
Look at the LS1 Brakes

Re: new wheels possibly :)
Front and rear are the same, 6in backspacing. When I ordered the wheels from Centerline they asked me what backspacing do I want. I went with 6in backspacing because with a 5in backspacing the tires will be flush with the fenders or slightly stick out past the fenders. I also have 2in drop Intrax Springs.
I used those tires to keep the same diameter size close to the stock 245/50/16
