My newly acquired toy
Just bought this 2 weeks ago. I saw it and I couldn't resist. It's really clean inside and out and all original well, except the muffler and tips. It even came with dealer documentations from the 1st owner. She'll get some bolt on treatments later. More pics to come.

5 simultaneous 3rd gens has to be a record man.
I think you need to take a group picture of all your 3rd gens and even throw in your 'vette so 10 years from now you can remember how crazy you are.

Re: My newly acquired toy
Neither one of them are for sale. You would have to offer me ridiculous amount of $$$ for the Teal Z28 and same with the GTA. I am actually working on the GTA right now, cleaning it to start the project. I got big plans for these 2 cars. I'm actually looking at the Teal 93 Cobra on CL to add in my collection. Then a 2002 Viper then I should be done for awhile. This red one I just got, I would not even let go for 2x the amount I paid for. It's hard to find real clean 3rd gens nowadays. And when I mean "CLEAN", it's clean. My Teal 92 Z28 will get a paint job next year.

That way when you want to retire, you can look back and say what the flip was I thinking
That's not quite true because when I was a kid and my aunt/uncle and grandparents were drive Plymouth Duster, Pontiac Ventura and 66 Chevelle, thought they were ugly back then but now I wish it was passed on to me. The 66 Chevelle could of been mine.....but someone beat me to it.

That's really clean. So, are you going to give a little background on this find? Did you get this local, partial trade for work, etc.....

Re: My newly acquired toy
I saw it on Craiglists (Granite Bay). He was going to take it to Sierra College Parking Lot Sale but we(wife, kids & I) went to meet them(father and son)there at the parking lot before the lot closed. I saw it and I wanted it on the spot. Exchanged stories, brought TGO in the mixed and he is a member here but does not frequently visit the forum. Even told me that a young teenage girl wanted to buy it but they did not want to sell it to her even if she came up close to asking price. They wanted the car to go to an enthusiast. Well, they found one. Took it for a test drive and I wanted it even more. Made an offer but I didn't have the money with me. My wife was teasing me asking if I wanted to barrow money from her. I didn't know she had the cash with her. I tried to get it but she didn't want to drive back home so I had them deliver it to my house that same night. He was asking $5500, I got it for $4800 cash. I would have gave him his asking price if he was firm but he bugde down so I got it. If it was a 92 Z28, I would of even pay more just to have a real 25th anniversary. They saw my ZR1 in the garage when him and his wife dropped it off and they were going "oooh ahhh beautiful car". LOL They also told me that their 16 yr old son was really depressed/disappointed to let the car go. I would too.

Re: My newly acquired toy
Yeah it is but it must be shiny. My first car was a brand new '89 red Z24 5 speed. Some friend used to tease me "should have added 4 more and got a Z28". LOL. At that time I also had a brand new Ninja. I could of afford the payment but not the insurance on a new IROC-Z back then. Statefarm wanted $2400 for six months.
