Nor-Cal intro thread - Tell us about you and your 3rd gen!
Been a long while since we did one of these. Thought it might be a good way to get to know some of our posters.
Try and keep the thread on track somewhat and with real answers please, thanks!
1. Tell us your name
2. What do you do for a living (job/schooling)?
3. Tell us what 3rd gen you have (want)
4. How long have you had it?
5. What is your goal with it?
A picture of your car is always good too!
ALSO - After our last GTG I thought this info below may be a good idea for networking and club building.
If you work somewhere, or can provide a service/trade/skill that may be beneficial to your fellow 3rdgenners, post it in here along with any location or contact info you wish to include.
Does not have to be car related, or have any discount involved, but that's always a bonus!
My full-time job is not a resource to list, but I also do computer repair part-time for a reputable mobile company in Sac and have my own clients for side jobs too.
If I can't fix it, I'll get you a referral to somewhere that can.

I guess I'll start if off too.

2. I do IT work for the Department of Corrections and part-time for a mobile computer repair company. Oh and I make the big bucks here at thirdgen.org too.
3. 89 GTA / 88 Firebird
4. GTA-7 / Firebird 13 -5 years that I sold it, so 8 I guess.
5. GTA-Keep it a fully loaded cruiser/weekend car that can turn some decent numbers at the track. Haven't decided the future of my Firebird yet other than an LS1/4L60e transplant.

TraviZ Here.. hence the screen name..
I work at a local auto parts store, working on my real estate license right now, and starting tonight, doing some ID checks for a restaurant on band nights.
I have an 89 Iroc-Z with a buttload of mods and some here consider this car not streetable for what it is. (see sig) it has not run in probably 3 years.. except for here and there ill get a few miles on it. Currently just waiting on my new Holley EFI system to come in.
Still needs a paint job, but all the go fast goodies are done.
Goal is to run 11.5 or better on real street tires, and be ***** out fast on the street, legally
I will post a recent pic when I can get it out of the garage, I do not want to post up an old pic yet.
Also own a 98 Z28 m6 , with 191k miles! All stock minus the LID and muffler. Runs good, and looks decent.
As promised, I got some new shots of the iroc today, once again, it looks like crap, but its fairly straight, all new body panels that arent red, brand new suspension everywhere, and a bad @ss motor. just waiting on the funds for my holley hp efi..

OK, I'm in.
Hank.
Self Employed remodeling contractor.
1985 IROC Camaro.
15 years (in three weeks).
My plan is to make it the car I would have ordered if I had bought it new.
Changes so far: rear disc brakes, 145 mph speedo, overhead console, leather seats, posi rear. More changes coming (just not sure what yet).

Great responses so far all. Glad a lot of the regulars have posted so newer members can get to know whos who for GTGs.
No worries, the yellow Camaro from Wisconsin prob did the same. We tend to have interesting threads in here that peak nationwide attention.

Will
BMW Mechanic
89 IROC-Z , bought the car in 2003 after my 86 Z28 was rear-ended and subsequently totalled.
Long term goals are to get it finished for this summer so I can finally enjoy it again. Looking to put down a healthy 350rwhp, that's plenty for me.
Crappy picture, but that's what it looks like now after the repaint, engine swap, ZR-1's. I'll take some more when it's out and about next month.

Marc Freire, aka 3rdBird, aka MrFirebird, aka MrPresident
President & CEO of Rocklin Automotive, Goodyear.
1991 Pontiac Firebird Formula/Trans Am Hybrid.
I guess I've owned it for about 4 years now. It started out as a stock 350 Formula, now it has a 406 that's ready for the bottle.

2. Full-Time student, I have a small business: Intimate Expressions, I do Naughty Girl Parties (co-ed! also) and take care of my 2 daughters.
3. Long story short.. Nov 08, bought a T-top 83 Z28, V-8 CrossFire ($200) Fixed all sort of dumb crap, Drove it for 3 weeks. Picked up my kid, parked waited for my other to finish up with school and BAM!! Hit DS, Rear @ about 25+mph, twisted my frame, NO ONE HURT! I drove away (dog tracking), He was towed (1960's ford pickup). He had really GOOD insurance. Bought me another 83' Z28 V8 Crossfire! Kept the totaled one for parts. My current Camaro had 77K miles.
4. How long have you had it? This month it will be a YEAR!!!
5. What is your goal with it? Keep as stock a possible, until it hits the 100K mark. Not to far off, I have 93K on the odom. OUCH!!
Here's a picture of it when I bought it:

1. Eric
2. Social Worker after 14 years of law enforcement and corrections
3. 1988 Camaro RS purchased 04/02/2010 my 7th F body (18 years since the last one).
4.My goal was to convert to V8 six speed manual, Now I think repaint to original Red with 16" Chrome IROC replicas and leather interior will be about it for my new daily driver. I am looking for a super clean IROC for a fun car. Unless RamAir21 can help me out on a swap like his, That thing is so clean it brings a tear to my eye. (I have family in Stockton so I can show up at your door for guidance, or stalking whatever you prefer).
Heres the car after detailing, touch up paint(I reshot about 1/4 of the car in my garage), magnaflow dual outlet exhaust, magnaflow Catalytic converter, tinted windows,KYB shocks and struts, and a set of 17" Chrome IROC replicas with 245/45-17 Nexen N3000 tires.

3. 1988 Camaro RS purchased 04/02/2010 my 7th F body (18 years since the last one).
4.My goal was to convert to V8 six speed manual, Now I think repaint to original Red with 16" Chrome IROC replicas and leather interior will be about it for my new daily driver. Re: Nor-Cal intro thread - Tell us about you and your 3rd gen!
Good to see someone got the joke seriously though Ramair21's car is unbelievable to me,One of the best looking third generation cars I have ever seen. I would absolutely love for my car to look half that good. Hell I would even be willing to part with a couple of my Harley Davidsons to have a car that nice. Soo if anyone can shoot his address i will go knock on his door this weekend with tools, duct tape and hand cuffs to abduct him to Redding to complete my car for me or he can come willingly.............
