I work in Avionics for the Air Force... Haha so I guess if you have any LRU's from an F16 that are malfunctioning, you can come to me. I am stationed in Misawa, Japan. So I guess if you need any aftermarket import parts, or JDM (haha) stuff, I could hook it up.

2. What do you do for a living (job/schooling)?/union pacific train service
3. Tell us what 3rd gen you have (want)/91 z28 convertble
4. How long have you had it?2 years
5. What is your goal with it?to make it look good
My first car was an 86 sport, changed the cam and exhaust and a few other things but had the hardest time passing smog all the time. I owned that car for 10 years sold it to my cousin and he caught it on fire within 2 months tring to pour gas in the carb. With the convertible i dont want to do much to make it faster cause of the cost of smog legal horsepower. So this time around im doing all show with a lil go. thats it in a nut shell

Haha, working in a Top Secret job cool but not cool at the same time. I can't come home and be like so this is what I did at work today, blah blah blah. My wife will ask me how my day was, I'll be like it was okay. She'll be like what did you do, then I get to say None-Ya!

Re: Nor-Cal intro thread - Tell us about you and your 3rd gen!
Hello there My name is Greg and I have a 92 Formula 305 TPI T5 WC 3.42 axle ratio. Numbers matching car. I would like to boost the ponies just a bit while still keeping my 305 in tact. I recently got my hands on an olds 455 and it may be one of the older higher nickle blocks and it may be HO motor too. I was planning on a mini ram 383 till I came upon this 455. I still like fuel injection. I was wondering if I could still use my ECM and just make a custom chip.

Nice setup there. How did the T56 fit and how high rpms go before power flattens out

Re: Intro thread - Tell us about you and your 3rd gen!
You could make that 455 work. You'd have to be able to have the chip tuned and all that. Thier are aftermarket efi system that I think would be more prudent and economical. a holley or fast EZ efi system with self tuning makes the most sense to me. But welcome to the site, and post pictures of the car when you can. we'd love to see it.

Re: Nor-Cal intro thread - Tell us about you and your 3rd gen!
My name is Casey
I am going to school right now, starting my transfer to Fresno state to be a social work major
I have a 89 firebird and a 82 trans am. My mom bought me the trans am for Christmas when I was 16 as a project, and I'm hoping someday it will run. I bought my firebird 4 years ago, and we just turned 22 together .
My goals are to get them both running, because sadly my firbird has been out of commission since feburary. First step in that plan: buying a braaaand new engine off the crate all wrapped up nice and pretty. Then after that I don't care as long as it runs good, cuz I've been driving a 2005 Malibu since then (yuck!!!!).
P.s. I also have a 91 firebird that needs a new home.

Re: Nor-Cal Networking - What do you do for work?
I drive a senior bus here in Yreka. I take senior adults to the doctors appts, to the store, to Walmart, and we have a lunch program that I take them to every day. Once a month during good weather I take them to Medford OR to the mall. Once in a while I'll have to take a senior to the hospice house and that part of the job I don't like Other than that I love my job.

I work as a visual aid distribution associate. AKA: Warehouse boy in a contact lens distribution and manufacturing. I live in Oakland and work in Alameda.
It's really nice to know I can ask you guys for discount and services at discounted prices! Too bad I can't hook you guys up with contact lens. I only get a discount for me haha.

We could just have a thirdgen get together anyways, take the top floor or something then go inside for some grub...

I was just there with my co-workers today. Ate way too much at the buffet.
Caught up with Travis for a minute. Looks like a pretty kick back job dude.

1. Tell us your name - Mitchell (Avinash)
2. What do you do for a living (job/schooling)? - Security Guard for almost 4 years
3. Tell us what 3rd gen you have (want) - '87 5.7 IROC-Z, Ttops, Power W/L/M
4. How long have you had it? - Since JAN of '11
5. What is your goal with it? - Restore + Daily Driver
After my '98 Ford Taurus started crapping out on me, and my old mechanic was trying to rip me off...
I Searched for over 3 Months on craigslist, every morning, every evening, and every night, for a 1987 5.7L IROC-Z with Ttops. Occasionally I'd see a 5.7, and it'd end up being a swap, or the incorrect year per VIN (but not per appearance), or there'd be something wrong with it that put me off...
In Jan of '11, I found the car of my dreams, with every reasonable option I could want, with the exception of it being Red instead of White. My girlfriend and I drove down to Kingsburg, near Fresno, to check out the car; unfortunately I was unable to access my money in the bank due to it being a holiday, so I had to drive Back down there another day to pick up the car...little did I know the problems it had - However, its been a fun learning experience and I don't regret it a bit.
Pic of my camaro next to my old taurus, despite its mechanical problems it was cosmetically immaculate.
Here's a photo i took outside of my apartments:
Did a few cosmetic changes:
Did another cosmetic change:
And Another...
It really is a work in progress...
And this is me:
Definitely not your typical 3rd Gen Camaro driver...
Heres a couple other pics of my car:
Hope these pics aren't like...too big for this thread. If they are I sincerely apologize and will gladly downsize them and repost!...

Just a broken reflector in the rear bumper. Some fool backed into me several months ago.
