The time has come...
For my official return to the 3rdgen family. Many thanks to TraviZ for going to LA to pick it up with me. And yes I ran a Carfax..so those miles you see are accurate. It had the original tires, so before I could even leave LA we had to stop and get new ones. The gas was 5 years old...been sitting for a while and most of the sitting was in Long Beach, hence the minor surface rust and paint issues. Looks like never garage kept. It was a family member selling it for the original owner, so it looks like from the carfax I am the second owner
Cool thing is everything except the passenger window and rear hatch motor work. Needs hood and rear hatch struts as you can see. Even cruise works, which was very helpful for the drive back. So after some paint, and the drivers door dent fixed it will look like a 20K mile car. And the drivers seat has a nice rip, almost like a dog took a bite out of it, but I will have all that fixed as well. Has the original GM floor mats, going to have them, carpet and all seats steam cleaned and stain guarded.
Best part is....the guy thought the car was a POS and was only asking 1600, I got him down to 1400! K, enough blabbing already, enjoy the pics.
Del, please go easy on me for the violation of the pic policy just this once Consider it a present to me for coming back to the family

You got a smokin deal for a 20k mile car. Deals like that don't come too often.

Pimp! You know I'm a sucker/stickler for low mile beauties.
I was going to ask what year/model/engine, but I see ya updated the stats.
Congrats & welcome back, officially.
Now we just need to work on actually having some 3rd gen gtgs.

I thought you were going to wait out and get an Iroc?
Either way, looks like it has good potential. What plans do you have for it?

Re: The time has come...
That's a hell of a deal, I'm jealous.
It seems to have the wrong tail lights. Those were not offered in 91 and must be from an earlier car.

Re: The time has come...
She runs like a top, no smoke on start up, from the fresh oil change in LA all the way home until I checked it yesterday not a single drop has been eaten, and no drips on the garage floor of any kind. Gotta adjust the hood latch so it pulls the hood down more to close that gap.
Thanks for all the compliments everyone, feels great to be back. Would love to have a meet and meet all the new faces and just chill and talk like old times.
Looking in classic industries book it does appear to have the wrong tailights. I know they repainted the car years ago from the factory blue. I am wondering if the old ones were so faded from the sun they pulled some used ones from a junk yard. Either way I plan on after paint buying the new correct ones to reinstall.

Well at least I thought there was a pic policy on here, thanks Del.
How was the gas mileage on the trip up with that 305 TBI?

Re: The time has come...
Wow. Impressive Will.
I got up to 28 MPG on my trip to LA and back with that 2.73 I used to have. That TBI will be a reliable motor forever. You know what to do to get a little more pep out of it.

Re: The time has come...
why don't the rest of us find those kind of deals? nice foundation, you don't have to rebuild engine and tranny like the rest of us with the 100k+mi car deals. and interior replace also. you can add swaybars and have a cheaper to insure iroc anyhow.

Re: The time has come...
Ya it was for sure a hell of a find and deal. Took time to find, and I am pretty picky, it was just what I was looking for and then some. The foundation of the car is one of the major reasons I bought the car as you said, it was just too good to pass up on for the price.
