I'll plan to be there regardless, if it rains, 4th gen will show.
As I mentioned in the Norcalthirdgen thread, maybe we can use this meet as a barometer of interest for doing a monthly meeting, whether it is in Folsom, or elsewhere of interest/location.

Sucks I can't get the day off, sounds like the turnout might be pretty good. New jobs blow sometimes..... at least the pay is good

How did you put it on backward? I know where mine is set. How does it run when you have it backwards?

Re: Mels - Folsom - Jan 11th
i didnt put it on backwards. We left as in the car and just tuned it up. It was still having problems which has led to the questionability of it being azbakwerdz. Ask rough, the guy before jacked everything up. Aparently i need an air dam as well if anyone has one lying around.

Re: Mels - Folsom - Jan 11th
Hmm it runs good till i want to stop or slow down fast or sit stopped in drive. Then it "Bogz" down. It backfires alot as well, and the rpms are 1500ish. The throttle response increased as well from the timing advance but still sluggish.

Are you going to be there on the 11th? Want to hit up the Junkyards before so you can pick up an airdam?

Re: Mels - Folsom - Jan 11th
we were thinking it was 180 degree off because when we took it for a ride after setting the timing, which was off, we unhooked the EST and the car backfired and poped so bad. I had installed mine 180 backwards and it did the same thing, just he has more power once he is moving then i had, but its been a while, hopefully we can figure it out !!

Re: Mels - Folsom - Jan 11th
Anyone on? I cant get my distributer on correctly. I can get it tight on, but it wont seat down to the gasket. There is like an 1/8 inch gap so the gasket is useless. Is this supposed to be like that? What is going on?

#1 is it seated corectley? I mean engaging the gear all the way, #2 is the gear on all the way? or is it damaged? Is it new? If so go exchange it.

Re: Mels - Folsom - Jan 11th
I'll be there...
I'm just trying to decide if I should load the bird on trailer or not. Its close to being done, just trying to get the rear brake lines done & comp wired.
The AN brake line problem is kicking my azz. Finding AN to bubble flare fittings has turned out to be harder than I thought. I think I might have it figured out.
I just got the trans cooler lines done w/ 6AN fittings, steel braided lines & a new B&M Super Cooler. Its pretty tech.
I know someone has posted it, but what time does this GTG start?

Re: Mels - Folsom - Jan 11th
5pm is the word. Anyone done a fuel cell conversion? Id like to do that and a battery move. Take some weight off the nose. I wish i had all my Aircraft tools. I know i have a ton of lines and fittings back home.I remember doing a twin engine prop's fuel lines. Worst part was making the flares with out cracking the tubing. Nice n slow is all i can say.
