Drift/Drag events in Tracy

Hi NorCal Third-Gen owners.

Altamont Raceway has recieved clearance to use the pavement at two airports (Tracy Municipal Airport and New Jerusalem Airport).

The space at Tracy Municipal is basically like a large parking lot, but without any lamp posts or planters to run into. This location will be used for drift events, but autocross events may also be held in the future.

A runway is available at the New Jerusalem location. Currently an 1/8 mile drag race event is planned for August 31.

The schedule of drift and drag events can be seen at www.tracytarmacthunder.com .

The first drift practice is scheduled for July 18 with a planned entrance fee of $25. I will be driving or rather drifting my 89 Camaro RS and I would be happy to see some other Third-Gen owners come out to the event, not that I mind hanging out with import owners.

Anyway.
All who want to learn to drift are welcome to come practice in a safe and legal environment. Don't forget your helment.

Re: Drift/Drag events in Tracy

Looks like we're still waiting for local government approval, so now the first drift event has been tenatively scheduled for August 3.

Oh well, it gives me some more time to get used to the quick steer ratio box I just put in today .

I'll keep thread updated as more info becomes available.
