Re: My '88 Firebird Formula 350

I know. My car got vandalised and it was a matching hood at the JY for a great price. I haven't had the time to really mess with it.

Re: My '88 Firebird Formula 350

I love this car. I remember the pictures and story of the damage it took from a gang of serial idiots. It's had great owners as long as I've known.

Questions?

The Blackouts in the back tail lights... did you paint or apply covers? Looks good! Black GTA wheels, sweet!

From one Bird owner to another though, the "twin Bird" on the nose doesn't do it for me. I think the fronts of our cars speak for themselves so I put a sail panel bird on the front (smaller) and then the nose sticker on the gas lid. Not factory, of course.

Last question... how does it drive?

Re: My '88 Firebird Formula 350

I sprayed the Tail Lights myself.

Again. I dislike the Bird on the hood also, it was just a replacement part from the vandalism that matched. I need to have the bird removed soo. I dont want to repaint the hood though as I have been thinking of repainting it the Exact same.

I couldn't pass the deal on the rims. I was looking at 300 for new tires...Cheapest, and well...I got the rims and tires for $250 with 90% tread. I am happy. The Formy rims are going to be used for the brand new set of Nitto Drag Radials I have sitting in my room.

Runs like a bat out of hell, and at 17. It definately gets the chicks...

Re: My '88 Firebird Formula 350

Haha... He is mad at the court system because I got caught Street Racing Again 2 monthes ago, and he punished me right away and I haven't driven either of my cars in 2 monthes. It has been 2 monthes and nothing from court. Soo he believes in punishing as soon as it happens so you learn a lesson and not wait 2 monthes. He is mad at the court, so he gave me insurance again! Works for me...

Well what court did is turned it over to probation and they were suposed to send me a letter 3 weeks ago. Well, I hope they decide to not go after my case. I mean...they do have druggies and problems kids they can deal with. So they wont have too much fun with me.

Very nice lookin' '88.
I remember the past thread and your dad's postings.

Hope you learned your lesson in regards to the street racing.
A little fun is OK, but you should save it for the track.
You are more prone to have accidents at your age as you're still figuring out what's acceptable on the road and how to handle your car.

Re: My '88 Firebird Formula 350

I have the handling down.
I mean when I raced I Let off at 45 and I went out to an empty airport. I was in a bone stock LT1 Caprice this time.

It is the same ticket as though I was going through downtown (Busy) at 100+.

Keep the comments coming.

Re: My '88 Firebird Formula 350

nah I don't like the stockers. Something about orange and red clashing.

Mine are tinted...maybe not quite as dark as yours.
(My Formulas white too)

Re: My '88 Firebird Formula 350

Yours looks clean, but I think they are too plain all white. After Seeing how mine turned out, I kinda like the Charcoal two tone.
My goal was to get mine to look like this:

----------
By the way, What polish did you use on yours? I would like mine to be a high gloss and a little bit lighter.

Re: My '88 Firebird Formula 350

thats my car!

Never polished the tail lights...the previous owner tinted and put them on.

My car looks like this now--its getting the Eibach Pro kit next week. (in that first pic it had the intrax 2" drop)
I changed the wheels and added the decal kit myself.

used to like the 2 tone until got my car.

Re: My '88 Firebird Formula 350

What are the chances. What happened to the crosslace wheels? I might get mine repainted this summer all artic white with the Formula 350 decal and tint my windows. I think you are in dire need of some clear Sidemarker lights.

slim

I sold the cross lace wheels. Just not my style....too common.

Same with the clear side marker light...they are too ***** for me...hehe...to each their own I like very stock appearing on the outside

Well now you have an idea of what your car would look like--here is a pics of the car with decals and cross lace wheels.
