I think its time for a true daily driver. so I'll be selling one of my thirdgens.

Re: Formula or Iroc ????????
weird my parents said the same thing. I've almost sold the Iroc a couple times before I join TGO. the only reason it never sold was because something would go bad on it. one guy even offered me $1000 for it before I took it apart, I told him $1500 if he wanted the rims with it but he never came back.
and the funny thing is I wanna get my eclipse running more than I want the Iroc running.
Im gonna think hard about it for the next couple days or weeks. I just wanted to see what your guys thoughts about it were.

Re: Formula or Iroc ????????
How much for the Formula, since everyone seems to think you should sell it? Heh.
What is it gonna take to get your IROC where you want it? I would say that you would be smart to keep it to one 'project' car, whichever one that may be, and then have something reliable in addition to that.
What year Eclipse did you buy? AWD?

There's a guy across the street from me with an eclipse like yours that he has a rediculous amount of money into it. It's fast, you can hear his turbo from 1/4-1/2 mile away. Haven't you been plagued with problems in the Iroc? Hard to say, would the formula get paint and rims?

lol Eclipse wow ill never drive one of those,if you build a decent motor with a strong tranny your iroc should be more reliable i mean i have a strong reliable motor in my car the tranny was the weak point i knew it was since i got the car but it lasted for 4 months pretty good for a 170,xxx tranny that i was doing donuts, burnouts ect but since the rebuilt my car has been very reliable or get you a scraper bike lol

Re: Formula or Iroc ????????
I basically need to put the iroc together. I have just about everything needed to get it on the road just need a couple little things.
the formula would get paint if I keep it, don't know about rims.
kid, I thought the same about the gsx then I drove it. its a blast to drive. think how good a iroc handles, that's how the gsx handles in the pooring down rain. thing grips like mad.
oh and vetts aren't my thing my mom has had one for a couple years, and I've driven it many many times so they are kinda over rated to me. it doesn't awww me any more, so its not as fun to drive

Re: Formula or Iroc ????????
my cousin had one it was awd and turbo it beat my old lg4 bad lol that i use to own but the iroc runs away from him,but he sold it due to problems he said the trannys are weak and if you turn the boost up to much it will blow the head gasket, ect either way you look at it your going to spend $$$$ getting that car to run the iroc would be easier to work on more fun to drive, whats wrong with the gsx ?? my car still handles good in the rain if my tires are good lol i smoke a Plymouth Laser yesterday he thought i had a 5.0 lol i mean my car says 5.7 on it and he going to ask is it a 305 lmao

Re: Formula or Iroc ????????
they will out handle our cars and that little gsx with little effort plus they are nicer looking also but you can't go wrong with a iroc tho there nice looking also specially with a built motor thats why i still got mine im a keep it in the family im never selling it vettes arent over rated, ferraris, lambos and porsche are i mean the new z06 is killin them and the ZR1 going to even kill them more not bad for a pushrod v8 that gets better gas mpg

Terrell, I just don't understand you.
Sell them both and buy my car. It's a true daily driver. I'll cut you a deal.

mike I can't have a thirdgen as a daily driver. I bought the formula to be a daily driver and I've put close to $4000 into it in a year.
kid you either 1. dont really have/drive a vette, or 2. are one of those azzhat vette drivers that thinks his **** is the best smelling thing to ever come out of someones ***. I know all about corvettes, I just dont get a thrill driving it.

Ferrari, Lamborghini, & Porsche are usually spelled with capital letters. Corvettes are usually put up against them because they are the only American entry that can even come close. Corvettes are massed produced, Ferrari, Lamborghini & Porsche hand crafted.
I have a buddy that sells Lamborghini's, the average monthly payment for a Gallardo is $2000 a month. Vettes are what...6-7 hun?
Not even in the same class! gtfoh.

yup but i rather buy a house with all that money than some piece of plastic on 4 wheels and they have there flaws too everything man made has flaws and them cars do not excite me there ugly imo
yup there not in the same class a stock C6 Z06 ate a gallardo for lunch lol and a 911 turbo and gets better gas mpg than both of them
then flash tune them and then Air Intake, LT's, Catted X-Pipe, Catback, Textrailia Clutch, Et. Streets then your in the 10's and still pay way less than that euro trash

Re: Formula or Iroc ????????
vettes are over rated by people, not the media. people think the vette is a supercar or something, maybe because I've driven one for years on a regular basis. the vette is just another car to me. If someone was to give me a vette I would drive it to the store to buy it a for sale sign.

I'll have to 2nd that statement.
Too much crap man. Just pick 1 project car, do it right and the way you want it.
I would say that you would be smart to keep it to one 'project' car, whichever one that may be, and then have something reliable in addition to that.

thats what I plan to do, it just I don't know which one I want to keep.
my daily driver will have to be something I am not easily influenced(sp) to mod.

Re: Formula or Iroc ????????
In all honesty, I think the Iroc looks better. The older Formulas aren't as appealing to me. If you're starting on the same platform, I say Iroc.
If my A4 sells tomorrow my wife gave the ok to get an S4! Twin turbos will be tempting to mod though so I will have to restrain myself.

Re: Formula or Iroc ????????
my honest opnion would be the formula its way cleaner and has more potential than the iroc,
the iroc needs a all panel off resto, where as the formula nees an $800 earl scheib paint interior is already clean,
you already have a blower for the formula thats installed, the formula is lighter than the iroc, the formula has a clean title with a V8 vin code lol the formula didnt come with a tow hitch installed
but in all honesty sell off all the parts you bought for the iroc, and give the chasis away thing has been nothing but a money pit that gets no return or satisfaction. i am formula all the way, either way as i always have been ill be there helping you build the thing
and as far as the eclipse go no way its a reliable daily driver just get rid of that thing too and call it a loss just sell it on the dsm board. forget all that john shepperd crap.
my vote is its summer time, ride the gsxr till oct than buy a newer 00 or newer 4cyl daily driver have the bike for good twisties, and the formula for track time or a cruizer.

Lamborghini, Ferrari, and Dodge Viper, All Have something over the vette, its called EX·CLU·SIV·I·TY
And we all know what I would take over a vette. Even if the vette is faster, hell they are all a cookie cutter of its lower class brother, the base C6 that every old man or woman drives. It's a girls car that's for sure.

Don't get me wrong, I love Corvettes, especially the C5R and C6R racing efforts, but be aware of who was consistantly winning Le Mans GT before GM got their **** together.

Did you watch that video? that was the z06.
The video you posted seems rated solely on what one driver decided.
It posted official stats and that was it, no real track times or anything.

Lol you guys are comparing apples to apples, vipers and vette's are both bad ***. Just because you dont like the opposite car doesnt make it a piece of garbage, quit being so ignorant.

Re: Formula or Iroc ????????
I am not saying I hate the vette, But when it comes down to it, I would choose any other for its rarity.

Re: Formula or Iroc ????????
Doesn't matter which car, if it has a boosted LSx, then it wins. (I chose IROC for that reason)

Re: Formula or Iroc ????????
I vote for Iroc, always loved the camaro's best! Besides, it was your first baby and project car, fix it up man Give her what she deserves.
You have no idea what I would give to have my first Thirdgen back, not the CFI, had a 84 Z28 5.0 HO (L69). Miss her soooo bad! She was cleaner then the CFI, had only 65K original miles, gave her a brand new white paint job, new tranny etc... Fing stupid for selling her!!!

Re: Formula or Iroc ????????
wasn't really my first project. I had a 69 Z28 that me was my dads old car that we were gonna bring back to life. then it was a 73 duster that was gonna get a 360. those never really got off the groud due to LIFE. Then I had a 74 nova, that was gonna get a 502. was on the way to order it and seen the Iroc, and came home with it.
latly I haven't really been feeling four wheels. Im 98% sure me and the Iroc/parts will be parting. Just not sure if Im gonna keep the formula
