April '08 GTG
First of all, how many of us will have their 3rd gen running by the end of March early April? I'm talking about just being drivable not necessarily race ready. I am planning to set up a GTG at a shop in Lincoln by Galleria BLVD. I know the shop owner and also own a 3rd gen, a 91 Formula(w/mods of course). He's up to having a GTG there. He has enough parking spot to accommodate good amount of cars. His shop is also surrounded by restaurants so food will not be an issue. If you prefer to trailer it there then that's fine too. As long as it has it's own power to get off and back on the trailer because we will not be pushing back up in the trailer. unless my 14 sec car decide not to start then we'll have to push.
About his shop: it's a 6 bay shop and capable of doing more than I was able to do at my shop. He has a Hunter Alignment Machine, BAD *** MILLER welder, tire balancer and installer, 4 two post and 2 four post lifts and more. Maybe he will let us use one of the 4 post lift to check, I mean just to "CHECK" the undercarriage of our cars. For you guys that are looking into buying tires, let me know and I'll get in touch with him. He can get drag radials as well. The only thing he does not have at this time is smog/dyno but might move mine there(it's in the plan as of now-thinking about it ).
So, who's up to it. I know we have been talking about GTG but, well.... you know what happens next.
C'mon fellas, let's make this happen. Enough with the BS GTG, this one is for a real GTG. I want it to be better than the one I had at my shop. You guys won't be disappointed when you see his shop and on top of that he's a gear head just like us.
BTW, this GTG will be open for all fast cars. A 15 second Civic or Cavalier (and that's 0-60 not 1/4 mile) will be welcome as well.
Okay,...... roll call.

Yep, I'm shooting for March; I've been putting this together for the past two years. My posi just blew into small chunks and I keep having to refix stuff faster than the new parts get installed...... Is it located in a safe enough spot to where we could do burn-outs???? Or maybe even some 60 foot times??? Nitro

Re: GTG
My car looks ok at 65mph on the freeway but the underhood is "hoopty". I'll have weekends off by then, so set a date! It looks like a 4 hour drive for me. Good thing I have AAA, lol.

NO. Sorry. We will not be doing any of that stunt anywhere near the shop due to liability issue. We should be glad that he's letting us do it at his shop/premises. On top of that, I am going to join the Law Enforcement by the end of this year so I don't want any stupid record under my name.

Re: GTG
I'm in.
Sounds like we can make a long afternoon and eve of it for those traveling.
2 months notice is pretty far in advance, you almost have to throw together a last minute, week before GTG, to be successful.
Let's see a date and hope for some 3rd gens!

Re: GTG
Date/Time: April 6, from 11am-5pm. That's on Sunday . Saturday is a regular business day for the shop so saturday is kinda out of the question and plus if we do it on sunday we can use the shop. We can end it earlier than 5pm if we decide to take a drive....say maybe the Thunder Valley Casino. It's not that far from there. . We're open for suggestion at this time.
3rdbird is too excited to have this GTG. He's already showing his burnout. BTW, that's not him doing the burnout. Not sure if he knows how to. j/k. Someone will need to beat that burnout...anyone?
Hell, I'm excited too. I wonder if there's going to be a TNT or Grudge racing that saturday. We can go racing saturday night so we have some BS to talk about the following day.
Also, ahh, there's KFC, IHOP and Carl's Jr pretty much next door. There are other restaurant/fast food across the street as well.

Re: GTG
Update on the GTG. I talked to Marc (shop owner) re: the GTG and we will be doing BBQ (hamburger, hotdogs and some side dishes) at the parking lot. We might also have some giveaways for the first few that will show up. Also he will be available to do services for fellow third genners. If any of you guys want exhaust, tires, etc. done at the shop. Let us know so we can order parts.

How much to fix my horrible gas mileage? haha only 8 mpg at the moment and no Check engine lights either. Has been like this for over a year. I get around 100 city miles to the tank.

Re: GTG
Tell me about it. It also doesn't want to idle unless it is warmed up. It runs really good though when it is all warmed up and everything. That is why I am stumped.

Re: GTG
If you need me to order parts, I can do it to have them here waiting for you. As far as poor gas mileage, there are several things that may need to be physically checked before you can really identify the problem. Fortunately, we do that too.
