Burgundy Camaro with hood scoop
I was eating dinner at the Denny's this evening (I know, big spender) when I noticed a burgundy '87 Camaro in the parking lot. After looking at it for a little while I noticed some steam coming out from under the hood. I then saw it's owner (driver?) on the phone at the front. When we finished and were leaving I noticed some shoe polish on the windshield that had $2000 scrawled on it.
I walked up and started talking with him and looking at the engine. It looked like a 305 with an after market intake and a new Edlebrock carb on it. Everything else on it looked stock. All of his smog equipment was gone. There was no cap on the radiator recovery container so I think some coolant had been splashing around... There was a lot of steamy smoke type stuff.
He stated he just bought that car and I told him he'd never get it licensed without being able to pass smog. I also mentioned that it was the obligation of the seller to prove the car could pass smog. How often is that part skipped, huh?
Anyway, I told him about the forum, told him he could probably get all the smog stuff from a Napa but then again with that intake, who knows.
If he shows up he will have a lot of questions.
