Wheel Works

Anybody have any experience with Wheel Works in Concord? I'm down to the belts and am ready for my Kumhos to go on. Big O quoted me $160 for balancing, install, alignment, and disposal of old tires. Havent gotten a quote from Wheel Works yet, just wondering if anybody have something to say about them.

Well ya...$60 is about right for just balancing and shitt. Alignment adds another $70 to the mix.

I have taken my car to wheel works many times. They seem to do a good job, and will price match on items and possibly labor.

wheel works thats funny. I was there a few weeks ago. They used to do all my tire changes. They must have recently changed management. Took it to them this time and they wouldn't touch it because it was lowered and had corvette brakes. It was like that before though. Kinda felt proud of her for being too good for them.

It's looking like I need new tires... slow leak in driver front. Getting one new one doesn't make sense.

Where is the best deal for 4 tires?

if you can... look for a firestone. cheap and their lifetime warranties are pretty good. the two firestones up here in sf are pretty cool.

Wheel Works...

I've used the Wheel Works in Mt.View over the years and they've alway given me (and my brother-in-law) great service. I would give them the thumbs up!

I have 4 of those exact tires in my garage ready to go on. 245/50/16. All I can tell you right now is the tread pattern looks pretty cool and they smell good. I love the smell of new tires. Use Tire Rack, I am VERY impressed with them. Guy called my house 10 minutes after I clicked submit and said that they were out of tires at the warehouse I ordered from and asked if I minded waiting a few more days if he shipped them from a more distant location for no extra charge. I said go for it since they aren't going on for awhile anyway. (Not like I had a choice...it would have been even longer if I waited for the closer location to get them in stock. Still amazing service though.)

I've had a similar experience with the Yoko's I bought from them for the 15's that came on the car when I got it. I'm always amazed by their prices and with a distribution center in Nevada, shipping is a minor fee.

These tires I have now (remember those Hercules tires Harjeet?) are of marginal quality rubber and the driver's front will not hold the 44 PSI it needs to remain fully inflated. It's been holding at that pressure for a while now after I filled it completely 2 days ago.

It's only a matter of time.

Wheel works is more known for wheel repair, wonder if they still do that. They are supposed to be very good at that from what I have heard.

Very pleased. It took longer than expected, but everything looks good. They told me I needed new struts and strut mounts and quoted me $550 but I turned it down. Rather do it myself

I was quoted $190, ended up being about $171 for 4 tires installed, balanced, and alignment.
