So far I can make it on the 17th. I won't race if I don't have my new tranny yet (same boat as BorlaZ06). I'll frag this tranny like my old one if I do race. See web page for picture.

I'll need a place to stay or a number of a close motel.

BTW BorlaZ06 - What happened to your tranny? Did you break a t-56?

yea the T56 is toast. it pops out of third and grinds going into it. 4th gear grinds everytime. people tell me its the shift fork. my buddy said he can rebuild it with the same internal the viper has but we'll see happens. im bummed out right now since its not safely driveable nemore.

I went with a G-Force T-5 kit. I went with the whole works. Bronze forks, counter gear stabilizer, internal shift stops and the best main shaft availible.

I haven't heard from Jason in a long time. Jeff moved and I doubt Zac will have his motor in by then.

It may be me only. At the price of gas these days it will cost me over a C note in fuel.

When we get closer to the date you'll have to tell us what we need to bring to help out.

I will be great to see some of the northern folk too.

Right on Travis, we got you on the list. As the time gets closer all of us Sac area thirdgeners will set up a time and place to meet at before we drive down. This way we can roll down there together and people can follow me if they don't know how to get there.

i hope i can make it the 17th i have my ride up on jack stands in my garage after a minor problem sunday night i just had my torque converter replaced about a month ago and then last night i was racing a black mr2 "sounded turbo but not sure" and was smoken him then i smelt something burning and seen white smoke build up inside and pulled over and got out and tranny fluid was leaken bad i blew up my torque converter it was almost busted inhalf that is the 4th one i have messed up since july they have to order it from some place down south and hopefuly it comes in time so i can have every thing put back in by the 17th
man i hate people that have no repect for ur ride i had to leave it out cuz of my problem and somebody keyed the hole car front to back man if someone has a problem with someone they should handle it with the person not there car so now my hole car is rattle caned just so it looks half decent

Wow, seems like everyone is having tranny trouble at the same time. My tranny just went out on me too. This weekend I am having a new tranny, t/converter, mounts, u joints, flexplate, etc. installed. Can't wait to get my baby back. Thank goodness it happend now so I can fix it and be there for the gtg. Now I just have to decide if I am going to race. I don't want to ruin my new tranny, it will be totally stock so I don't think I will race until I build it up. Oh well, I will still have fun. Can't wait to see everyone, see you guys later.

lol, driving it like mad would be fun. Don't want to bust my new tranny though. Can't do any hard driving or racing until I build the tranny up. It's all good though.

Hey Dwayne,

It's not a palace or anything, but I could probably set you up with an air matress in the livingroom. Also, any news on your tranny? I was reading the forums the other day about some ppl who had gone your route and had already broken theirs.

Ya, it's got a 2 year or 24K mile warranty, but who wants to go through having tranny trouble again, not me! I hate having tranny trouble, plus I can't afford to tow the car if it breaks down on me.

The tranny won't be ready by then. I read about the broken Gforce stuff. Not good to hear.

Thanks for the offer of a place to stay. PM me your number to call you so we can set this up.

Also it's getting time to make a RSVP list with a need to bring list.

I'll be in New Orleans next week so the more I can get completed now the better. Just in case I loose all my brain cells on Bourbon street.

Actually this thing will take place all over town, we will be taking a cruize out of fresno and then the rest of it is going to be town just in about 3 or 4 different places.

I'll work on a list of everything that we will need for the BBQ and get that posted up this week sometime.

Looks like it will be a good gathering!!!!!!!!!!! I had a question for you guys..........My motor is starting to act funny and I was probably going to buy a GM 350 HO and buy the vortec intake.....I was planning to use my stock TBI fuel setup and put a open element to keep my SS hood functional.....Do you guys think I should go another route.....A guy at work said I can get alot more engine for $2300.......What do you guys think?

Have you hooked it up yet Trav?
Think you can hit mid 14's at the track with the help of your Zex? I have been looking into their kits for a long time as well, definitely want to check yours out and have a race or two!

its all hooked up, except the fuel line i need to buy this paycheck. atm without it i run 15.6's and i hear people with 100 shots have shaved 2 seconds off their time, so im expecting low to mid 14's

one problem though, it was originally off a mustang, and i need to make it work on my TBI setup.

i only have to figure out what to do with this intake and regulator hose..

Alright folks...I'm going in today to get the permit for the picnic/bbq on saturday. When I get the exact time that we can get over there I'll post up the rest of the info you guys need...that will be tonight at some point. PROMISE! lol

Ryan

P.S. I need an acurate head count so we can buy food for everyone that is coming. This includes the driver of each car and whomever else you might be bringing with you. In my case I will have 2 people, me and my GF.

So we have 2 so far...

Ok here is the plan...April 17th 2:30pm - 4pm BBQ at Bicentennial park in Clovis. For those of you who don't know where that is click HERE to view a map. It should be fairly easy to find and we should have a great time.

Here is the list of the items we need for the BBQ. I took care of the money to reserve the spot we will be using and I'm going to take care of a second dessert for the BBQ, so the list is for you guys. Most of this stuff will be extremely cheap and some of it you might want to get together with another guy from your area that is coming and split it. Costco is the way to go if you have access to one, that or a Smart and Final type place. Anyway here it is.

1. Hotdogs & Buns (for 30)
2. Hamburgers & Buns (for 20)
3. Cheese for burgers (20)
4. Ketchup, Mutard, Relish
5. Lettuce, Pickels, Tomatoes
6. Chips (4 or 5 bags)
7. Sodas (8 2 liters or about 50 cans)
8. Charcoal (1 Med size bag) & liter fluid (local guys)
9. Seasoning for burgers (something to shake on)
10. Plates & Napkins & Forks & Knives
11. Potato Salad
12. Ice for the drinks in an Ice Chest (local guys)

Please split some of these things up guys....plus dont' forget to bring some cash for the baseball game at 7pm. Tickets for the game will vary between $8 - $12 depending on where you guys want to sit.

So come happy, hungry and ready to have some fun, cause this is gonna kick a$$.

Ok, I am going to bring all of the chips Ryan. I will bring some dip also for the plain chips. So, put me down for the chips, and dip. Once everyone else signs up for something to bring, if there are any leftovers I am willing to help out with those as well. Let me know Ryan. Whatever else I bring has to be able to survive a 2-3 hour car drive though.

I'll bring at least a cube (24) and a few 2 liter sodas for some variety, but if someone else wants to bring some more that's cool too. We'll see how many are going for sure and what is needed by next week so if I need to bring more or something else I'll know.

Also, for the Sac guys making the trek down there. .. how many of you are going to stay late for the races and head home late that night? What time/where are we meeting here, 11:30?
