LSX Special Order 3rd Gens

This is a FEELER thread...

I may begin building and or taking orders on LSX (5.3/6.0 LS1 LS2 etc etc) swapped third gen cars to build. In other words, you tell me what kind of car you want Camaro/Firebird or some weird FireMaro and what drivetrain X.XL / manual / Auto and ill put it together. I'm gauging interest on this as my buddy and I just thoroughly enjoy building/fabrication wayyy too much.

Again, just feeling it out, i know alot of ppl on the board would rather build it themselves but some guys on here im sure would like to get a car thats ready to drive that only needs all cosmetics...

Thanks

Jay

I would be interested. What do you think the pricing would look like? Are you going to be buying/building/selling the cars or would you be having people give you a wish list for their cars?

I can only give a rough estimate, but i think we would be looking at $4K to 6K for a complete LSx swapped car ready to drive with a title. Again, thats only a ROUGH Estimate as we are just trying to see what kind of interest if any will come up with this idea. Right now we have discussed buying a couple cars and doing the swap, offer them for sale and then perhaps, take a couple "orders". Obviously if someone wants an LS3/6speed car, we wont be fronting the $ out of our pocket to build something like that as LS3's or LS2's or W/e are pretty expensive complete and not looking to get burned.

For now im thinking a "Base" car would have something like a 5.3 LM7 auto and a "higher end" would have a 6.0 LQ9 6-speed. My friend and i have much to discuss but if anyone has anything to add to this thread or opinions feel free. Thanks

Have you thought about building a drop in kit ? The hardest part of a first time swap is figuring out how to make it fit, fuel and wiring. Sell the set up, and people can use their own cars, and do it themselves without forgetting some thing or chasing parts. The other part of my first question is what if I wanted to have you build MY Camaro?

i have thought about a kit, but it didnt interest me as much as bulding a few cars. its more fun to me. as far as someone elses car, we are kind of against that for liability reasons. Since we are using a lift and accidents can happen, id rather have an accident happen that costs me out of my own pocket than put myself in a position where im replacing someones elses car if ya get what i mean.
