I kinda skimmed through all the pages...any from the Monroeville area?
Just got an '85 T/A like 2 weeks ago and I wanna see some of the locals once this weather breaks.

Haha, I'll be prepared to be the slowest with my 5 Speed 2.8..
You wait for my engine swap, I plan on swapping in a 383 before the end of summer if all goes to plan.

^ thats some great info right there because i need some parts still. I should be there looking for driver fenders and interior bits
So what kind of ETs are we all looking at? we may have some close races. I think i read Orr is running a new L98? That should be a good match for my full exhaust airfoil and maybe cammed L98.
ps. what gears are u running Orr? I got some 3.42s . Theyll be 373 or 4.11s eventually but the 3.42s should be good to take most ppl.

Re: PIttsburgh
lol i'm gonna be running a 383 "L98" i guess you can call it. Looking to run in the 11's on motor. If i dont i'll be VERY disappointed. But i'm confident it will be a pretty quick car. My old L98 tho was pretty quick for the mods...ran low 13's all day long and 12.9's on a good day
I currently have 3.42's and will run those for awhile. I know i will need more like 4.10's to get the most out of this motor but i wont do that swap till i get a 12 bolt or 9 inch rear. I will look into 3.73's tho for the 10 bolt if i can get them cheap lol I dont feel this thing lasting long with 3600-3800 stall and 500+ hp launches

Drag strip? IROC's are road racers, We should all do a track day at Beaver Run in the spring! That would be cool!

Re: PIttsburgh
me too, i got a decent handling suspension and just really need bigger brakes and wheels/tires to get the full potential out of it. Got the canton road race oil pan, and would like to upgrade to the 1LE style gas tank with baffles so i dont suffer starvation like i currently do when i'm down 1/4 tank or so

Once I get my turbo v6 done, Id be willing to go down the strip or around the track. I just need to get it in the car and tuned.

Re: PIttsburgh
Anybody here from Pgh, City of, seen the dark blue or black 3rd gen with the PINK racing stripes and the big pink bowtie on the back glass? Couple of weeks ago I was on my way to work and saw it broken down on the outbound lanes of the Liberty Bridge. I see the car all over in the South hills during last summer, as I saw him(I think) I was wondering if it was one of us???

Re: PIttsburgh
I found this info from Jim Zufall of starlite on Pittspeed.com. I wasn't aware of the changes until now.
Wexford Starlite Car Cruise to delay opening of 2008 Season
Wexford Starlite Car Cruise to delay opening of 2008 Season
Opening date will be Friday May 23rd
As the Wexford Starlite Car Cruise prepares for the kick off
of the 2008 cruise season, some tough decisions needed to be made. With the
building and grounds of North Way Christian Community in the midst of a major
expansion project, a number of obstacles have affected the way the Cruise will
operate this year.
The many volunteers that make the Wexford Starlite Car Cruise happen every week are committed to a standard of excellence that provides the best experience possible to all those who have come to enjoy the Starlite Cruise. In order to continue this distinction, a few adjustments are necessary.
First and foremost is the rescheduling of opening day. The
popular Friday night destination for so many cruisers in the area has
traditionally opened the season on the first Friday of May.
Delays in the construction project due mostly to weather and
some unforeseen circumstances during site preparation have forced the leadership
of the Wexford Starlite Car Cruise to move the opening day for the 2008 season
to Friday night, May 23, 2008. This is of course the Friday of Memorial Day Weekend.
This is a disappointment to be sure, but expecting our faithful
weekly visitors to tolerate the dirt, dust and inconvenience that a project of
this magnitude brings simply wouldn't do justice to our event which we endeavor
to make the best of its kind anywhere. The hundreds of antique and custom
vehicles that populate our parking lots every Friday during the summer deserve
a clean, safe atmosphere to enjoy. We hope that delaying the start of the
Cruise this year will allow us to provide just that.
As the season moves forward from May 23rd, new traffic
patterns, parking policies and other changes and adjustments will need to be
addressed.
We simply need to view it as "Temporary Inconvenience for Permanent Improvement."
Thank you,
The Wexford Starlite Car Cruise Leadership Team
