If you look closely, the 4 foot tall hispanic "boriqua" actually hit my car and left her car sitting on my bumper. Apparently she was in a rush to get her "weave". Note to self: a Lexus ES300 is not the same size as a Mazda Miata.

Hey Sam, I have 2 sons older then you 26 & 20, the 20 year old now owns my 89 IROC Z & lives in Levittown Long Island. I live in Sheepshead Bay Brooklyn now, but lived in East New York, 11208 from 1964 to 1980. I went to St Fortunata on Linden Blvd & graduated from Franklin K Lane HS on Jamaica Ave. I use to live on Dumont Ave between Pine & Cresent St. My current F-Body is a 1994 Trans AM GT, but I'm always on this site because I'm always working on my son's 89 IROC.

When I went it was one of the toughest schools in the City, one of the few that had police officers permanently stationed inside the school.

But now I notice cops at most public high schools, I live not far from Sheepshead Bay HS and when I drive by, during school hours, there is always a police van there with several cops around.

Hey Josh, just got the 89 back from the mechanic, rear appears to be ok but need to take it out on the highway at over 70 MPH to test it for chatter & whinning noises.......here's a link to my 94 TA...

Queens

I own 86 z28 Iroc since last winter.

Its a project car that I was using to get to work.
I want to swap a T-5 manual tranny or maybe
a th350 eventually.
The bad..
I have a propeller sound that is preventing me from
using the car could be the torque converter or tranny I havent been able to figure it out.

In the past few months before it got cold I put
in another rear 3.42 open and stripped most of the interior out.
I have a long way to go to get her where I would like.

it feel good to noe im not the only one in this city thats into f bodies(i hate tuners). I just got my 86 camaro and im putin some work in to try to get on the streets as soon as possible. I live between gravesend and bensonhurst. I got a list of things i want to get but im haveing problems with picking an exhuast. Naturely i would go with flowmasters but everybody in the city that has a truck got flowmasters now( i swear that i heard a small school bus with them). Im thinkin of putting a hooker cat back on unless you guys got any suggestions im open. I need something thats goin to agree with my 350 crate. Hopefully when im done and it gets warmer out we can go mustang huntin.

Im in gravesend brooklyn. Got my 86 z28 last dec and its been sitting at my boys house till i find a steady job(a hard thing in this city). I was wondering what ur insurance is like. I just turned 20. I noe these ******* insurance companys r going to give me a rough time. How rough is it going to be. My familys a bunch of dicks so i cant get them to do my the favor. So im i going to have to com up with another scam or wat. It makes no sense, they would give me a cbr 600 for 2200 a year(and i told them im 18 and have a permit, and was going to ride all day) but they give me a hard time with a camaro. What the hell is america turning into.

Anthony, 27 from Howard Beach, Queens. 1990 Trans Am with a 305, sometimes used for work (stopped doing that when some small pebbles near one of our facilities put quite a few chips in my rear quarters - damn NYCT and DOT), auto and all of those heavy frickin' options. I keep promising myself I'll throw in a ZZ4, but I'm just plain lazy.

I hope i can get my car runing by the summer, maybe we can get together, a couple of races here a couple of pics there. And then theres the priceless exchange of information on parts and different shops across the city. Im always a man lookin to make new connections. Im lookin for a shop now. Hav any of u guys every heard of a shop in long island called mean street on long beach road. Those guys that live out in the boondocks do the same thing, get to together make group purchases, swap parts and by the time u noe it they all got 400 horse 3rd gens and they built them for half the cost. Im pretty sure we can do the same.

I happen to be a "boriqua". I sure he didnt mean it in an offensive way. And no im not 4ft as most us Puerto Ricans are not. Im 6ft. If that 4ft thing was an ignorant stereo type than you got us confused with mexicans (which i have nothing against and dont mean to offend) which we couldnt be more different from.

oh look! another sterotypical ignorant *******. Dont hate. Anyone who cant drive is a dumbass. doesnt matter what race. Some punk "WHITE" kid hit my buddies TA and a MEXICAN cut out in front of my pops causing him to swereve and hit someone else. Because of this Neither, my friend, my dad, or I hate "white" ppl or mexicans, nor do we go around stereo typing them. Its the individual, not the ethnicity. Now either ur a tad bit racist or you just single BORIQUAS out because its easily more memorable because flamboyant style of what you descibe, so you sound like a dumb ignorant moron. Anywas I was not trying offend anyone with this, so if I have I apologise.

With the above I almost am scared to say where I live...

So I will just give the zip... 11414..

BTW: My wife is hispanic and she is one of the best drivers I met... and yes she is from 11208 and went to Lane and graduated... very rare for lane...

In the Waldbaums lot every Thursday night there is a hot rod/ sports car gathering on Cross Bay Blvd. They actually seperate by car types. Nice place to see what is being done out there...

No need to fear the keyboard warriors.

I'd love to see your Z28 some day. And thanks for posting the meet up spot. I've been looking for hot rod spots for the longest. Maybe I'll go tommorrow night. What time is it? Would you be there?

I actually was not able to get my car out last Thursday... Hide tide makes up keep the cars up high.

I will probably go there next week. I did drive by with the Explorer.. it was kind a slow due to the weather.

I had yet to go there with a hot rod. We will see if they are friendly or nto next week....

^ We'll be there. Here's a pic of my '91 Formula that I'll be bringing so you'll know what to look for. However, the rims in the pic have since been scrapped, and it'll be "donning" it's original 16" rims, w/275's out back, and 255's up front....

I take it that show's taken of. Last time I went there it was like 7 or 8 cars, and only from the guys within the club that ran it. That was last year, however.

Cannot even begin to tell you how much traffic there was on the 440 just before the Verranzano bridge. Got home from work at 6:30PM, changed, tuned the car a little, picked up some friends, then literally sat on the highway. By the time we got there it would have been 10:30/11:00PM lol....

I was DYING for that pizza (pizza in Jersey is terrible), either New Park or Rosa's pizza over in Middle Village. Why don't you guys come on over to Raceway Park one Wednesday of Friday night? There are quite a few member's here looking to get together one night over by E-Town....

Shoot me a PM....

The show is pretty kool there where at least 20 cars there last Thursday and quite a few belonged to the club, and they are very kool guys. They admired my car and gave me a few tips on how I could fix it up. Dude I need some 3rd Gen company there.... Or I will just take all the ooos and ahhhs for myself.

I'd like to hit it again, but I work Thursday nights. Perhaps when I go on vacation early Sept they'll still be around.

Re: New York City 3rd Gen Owners

I didn't make it out to the meet last week cause I couldn't get a ride. I don't have a license yet... And my cousins don't understand my passion for cars, so they didn't want to go. I'll try this week...
