Front lisence plates definetly suck. I always wanted to get a nice billit grill, but it's not worth it if it's gonna have an ugly lisence plate over it.

I don't run a front plate either. When I went for an inspection, the guy at the garage tried to charge me 5 bucks to put it on for me and said he wouldn't do it with no front plate. I drove 5 feet out into the street and put it on, obviously to be removed after I passed the inspection.

I just read the petition. I got a good laugh out of it.
"Additionally, police officers will be more productive in stopping dangerous motor vehicle violations such as drunk driving, reckless driving, speeding, etc., because their time won't be compromised by stopping or ticketing a Massachusetts motorist who simply did not have a front license plate on display."
Haha. I'm printing this out and showing it to all the guys in roll-call.
You kids are funny
"Law enforcement officials may be opposed to a measure abolishing the front license plate requirement, because they might believe that losing the extra plate will make it more difficult for them to do their jobs in the best possible manner. However, in the 20 or more states that have abolished the front license plate requirement, there is no evidence of a decline in public safety as a result of the plate removal."
Not sure where you pulled this hoagwash out of. A good percentage of felony arrests start with minor traffic violations, such as "failure to display plates", and "defective equipment".

well maybe if they did there job and wouldnt harass us things would be different. i saw a Honda Prelude doing 100 MPH down I-495 and a state trooper radar them and then saw a 1970 SS Chevelle and he was doing 75 MPH in a 65 MPH and got pulled over when the Import was going atleast 100 MPH.... why did the chevelle get pulled over? My friend has been harassed because he drives a chevelle, now he has a second car and its a Cavalier and hasnt been glanced nor pulled over once yet! cops need a life

Part of the problem is a double standard. I had a one plate green and i had to take the car off the road for a year and when i went to reregister it they had adopeted the the two plates. That was ten years ago and if i still had the green plate i would stll only need the rear plate. so you see half the cars have one plate and half have two does that seem fair. it would not be as bad if every one had to go along the same rules..

Actually allowing the old plates to still be used is quite generous, otherwise everyone with a green plate would be required to buy new plates if they didn't make the exemption for the old plates.
This law will never be repealed. What's the downside besides that they are ugly? The state doesn't care. And its the easiest target for a radar gun from what I hear. Also works great when some idiot in a black car forgets his headlights at night and you can't see anything but the plate coming at you. For those reasons I refuse to sign as much as I despise my front plate.

They are def. a pain in the ***. I have been pulled over once for no plate. I just keep it under the passenger seat and say " I have it right here officer, I am on my way to go buy mounting screws" worked like a charm. They is no way I am tossing 25 grand into my car and doing ANYTHING I think looks bad. I will never run a front plate.

For the last post above this one......
Not sure what the point of that post was... But just to aleviate any confustion that there might be in the world, any muscle car that gets made/moded or anything is gonna cost more than it was new
And one other thing, if u can make a 500 Hp, T-56, Moser 12 bolt, roll gaged, lambo doored, fully custom Camaro for less than 25K please show me the steps.

No that is not me......
That is great that you have that kinda power and stuff didn't break or hasn't broke yet.
I am not making a race car at all. This is a 100% street car. It might see the track once just to see what it can do.... THants why it has all the nice stuff in it, it needs to last a long time, get OK milage (T-56) and never ever break when I am out on a cruise....
Anyways, I am not sure what this thread is really trying to discuss, I am building a custom "street" Camaro and you made a camaro with 500 HP. Apples and oranges. Good luck with your Camaro, if you are ever interested in acctually posting advice or a question, then please go ahead, but if u wanna bash me for building a car right, then do it someplace else, or send me an e-mail and I can explain my buildup in more detail.
later,
-Dennis

Thats a good question. Not sure..... I am 22 and this is the first and only car I have ever owned. Very high sentimental value. Has a lot of memories. I also plan to NEVER ever sell this car, ever. No matter what. So I see it as a fun toy, sorta investment. Plus they look sharp, are pretty rare, in a anyform and are easy to work with (in general).
Oh I also am in a very lucky position that allows me to spend this kinda $ on a car, I am by no means rich or anything like that. I am just lucky, mainly cuz I do not have to pay for school.
Anyways, I am rambling, Good luck with your build, thanks for not questioning mine, Hope you check my site in a few months when she is done. Later

I always use that trick to hide the plate under the seat but I haven't had to use it yet. My da who owns a 2000 Ws6 has been pulled over like 5 times but never for a front plate. They just dont care I guess cuz american muscle is kind of hard to find here in worcester.

No lack of 'muscle' in worcester.
More like, they don't care because they have hard enough time dealing with all the cracked out homeboys.

Re: Attn. Massachusetts residents front plate petition.
This would never fly anyway. There is no anyone could ever prove in a court of law that the license plate has any ill effects on anything that would nullify it's necessity for public safety.
