Anybody interested: show and cruise in N. Jersey this Friday

Ok, I put everybody who replied to the "Jersey? Where are u fellas?" in my PM list and hopefully I got most of the local people.

I'm trying to get something going here in North Jersey at least since I see a whole bunch of local towns but never get to meet anybody around here.

I'm gonna suggest to meet in the parking lot of A&P in Pompton Plains on Route 23 North. Its a good area since its right near 287/80/46 and reasonably close to 208 and the Parkway. There's also a Strauss and McDonalds in the mall, but the lot is huge and half of it doesn't even get used. We could meet there, BS for a while, cruise to Fuddruckers right down 23 and eat if we want or cruise on 23 or any other highway somebody suggests.

I'm tired of seeing nice f-bodies around and never meeting anybody... so if anybody has the smallest interest in meeting this Friday, July 12th,post here and shout out!! I can give directions from pretty much ANY highway in the area! Route 23 is exit 56 off 80, crosses I-287 in Riverdale, is about 4 miles North of Willowbrook Mall. Its GOT to be a good middle point!

I'm sending this to everybody in my PM list as well!

(I replied to this in your PM, but I'll post it here too)

Damn, dude, that sucks... I'm going to have to miss it. I've got a birthday party to go to, and it's going to be an all-nighter (if ya know what I mean)! It's a hell of an idea though, and if you guys do it again, let me know!! I'll bring my rust bucket. Then again, maybe by the time the next one rolls around, I'll have my new quarter panel welded on! (Quarter panel rust at: https://www.thirdgen.org/techbb2/sho...hreadid=108890 )

I'm figuring a good time would be around 7pm... if anybody wants to show up earlier thats fine. But I won't be able to make it out of work and up there until about that time. And if you can't make it at 7, come later, come for the cruise, come whenever!

83CAMAROMAN suggested a good idea that I actually thought about but didn't post. The Hooters right down 23 near the Sony Theater next to Willowbrook Mall evidently has a car show every Friday night that I didn't know about. I was going to suggest eating there or whatever instead of Fuddruckers but its just as good an idea. Say we meet at the A&P then cruise to the car show and arrive as a group=get noticed

yea the hooters car show is actually quite impressive, i've gone for the last 3 weeks and they have some very nice cars including vipers, ferrari's, a superbird, some very nice 1st and 2nd T/A's and Camaros and a lot of other nice cars, i think that'd be a sweet place to meet up since 3rd gens are very under represented there. Also the burger king on rt 46 in fairfield has a cruise night every wednesday at 6 and the pinebrook diner in montville on rt 46 has a cruise night/car show from 6-9 every monday. Me personally I'm up for any of the nights I think hooters would be best though

If anybody's interested... I work in Holmdel right near the Parkway actually and thats where I'll be coming from to get to the meeting point. If anybody wants to latch up with me (those coming from central and south Jersey) I'd be up for that, say meeting at the Cheesequake rest stop or whatever on the way up.

I dunno, this is just something I'm throwing out here, I want this to take place in North Jersey since we don't have anything going on up there and thats where I'm from but if people are coming up from the south you might as well go all together, why not? Post a reply if you like the idea.

The final meeting point will be the A&P shopping center at 6PM. I'm going to try my d<x>amndest to be there by that time but definitely by 7. We will cruise to the Hooters car show. I'd like to meet outside of the car show first to see who everybody is without distractions and what not and I still want to make an impression all arriving together at the car show - you all better have some loud exhausts!

Directions for those who need them.

From the Parkway: Parkway North to exit 153B (Rt 3W/Rt 46W). Route 3 will merge with Route 46 after it makes a nice little S-turn (just before the Fette Ford dealer on your right). Follow Route 46 now for I'd say about 2-3 miles. You will pass a Kohls (right), CompUSA (right), PCRichards (right), at this point make sure you're in the far right lane. The road will bend to the right, then back to the left, when it does this the Route 23 exit peels off to the right, follow that. Follow Route 23 for about 3-5 miles, you will pass a Treasure Island (right), go through the next 4 lights passing the Wayne Ford/Lincoln/Mercury dealer (right) and the Hess station (right). After that 4th traffic light, you will go down a straight stretch of road but just before the 5th light you will be turning off into the parking lot. You should see the sign for the A&P, McDonalds, Strauss, etc. We plan to meet in the part of the lot closest to the highway; you can't miss it!

Route 80: Take exit 53 (Route 23N) and follow the directions above.

Route 208 or 4: Take 4 to 208 to Route 287S. Then take the exit for Route 23S (don't know the exit number) and follow that until you see the Saturn dealership on your right (Saturn of Rt.23). Go through the light, around the jughandle and back over the highway. The parking lot will be on your right, you should see it.

Route 46 and 3: Follow the directions for the Parkway. If coming from the West follow signs for Route 23 N near Willowbrook Mall.

I think that about covers the highways in the area... PM me if anybody needs more help with them.

Headcount:

pianiy

possibly Xenodrgn
83CAMAROMAN
... anybody else who's lurking but not posting COME!

edit: wrong exit number off 80

Ok, so as you may have noticed I'm not going to be there tonight. Sorry guys. Exit 153 is a good hour and 15 minutes from my house, plus with traffic and everything going to and from the shore it's just too much.

Maybe I'll see some of you at E-town next Saturday. East Coast F-Body Nats baby!

Edit: Damn, I didn't read this post. I didn't know you were meeting at Cheesequake first... mfcker... Oh well. I promise I'll make it to another one and meet you guys up there.

Well that pretty much flopped.

I got there at 6, I originally said 7 thinking I'd never be able to get there earlier with all the traffic, but rethought it and figured I might be able to do it by 6 if I really tried. So I waited around for an hour, called my brother up who's got a 92 RS and he came down, so it was just the two of us until 7:45 when Tim (Omega) showed up and we said screw it and went to the show. I had a shirt with thirdgen.org graphics ALL over it and nobody at the show (the thirdgenner's I saw) even acknowledged me, let alone came up and said hello.

The show was cool, the Sportster with the flames out the exhaust was freakin awesome and I had a good time with my bro, Tim and his friends nonetheless. Had some food, a couple brews and a general good time with my friends.

Maybe next time guys?

Yea I was there. And I didn't stay to long. I got there like 8:45 and had to park in the back I was there with a white extreme s-10 and a 91 supra turbo. He don't got anything on me.I seen to t/a's park kind of by me. If the car was really quiet that you seen leaving that was me. next week my system will be in and then the exhaust. so its all good. The reason I got there so late is we were putting my friends rims on his s-10 and we had to polish them cause the ****** scuffed them trying to get the tire on. Oh well. I am down for what ever. I can't make it to the track for the nationals like i wanted to. because no money i went to wildwood for 3 days and spent over $200. sucks but I had fun. let me know when we are doing something like this again.

We were parked in the back also. If you were looking at the front of Hooters we were on the far right hand side, nose out. I did see a few thirdgens that night but we were inside or just missed you. Is this a weekly thing?

Did anyone here own the ****e looking red T/A that had a 383 in it? If so you need to work on your people skills. You made that young kid feel like such an idiot because he didn't know anything. I felt much better when you fired it up for the exhaust contest. It wasn't exactly steller.. that is if you could hear it over the belt squeek There is no point in going to a show if you are not willing to explain your car. There was a mustang there with a t-77, he was also a snob.

Here are the weekly car shows that I know of. Every Monday @ Bennigans in Saddlebrook on Midland Ave. The show is there from 7-9 Pm every Monday. evrey Friday at the Hooters in Wayne on Route 23 South. Every Saturday at the Wiskey Cafe in Lyndhurst by Midevil Times from about 6-9 PM. The Saturday car show is the best one around. I seen misterjuice there Saturday when he was leving. Alot of older and nice cars. No RICE at all except my friend who was there. We should all got the the Lyndhurts show Saturdays maybe not this one because of the Natl's I am always there.

People who don't talk about their cars really get on my nerves. That guy with the Fox body Stang is a dick and don't like people he don't know.

I'm up for going to hooters again this friday and we should agree to meet in a certain part of the parking lot, I definitely saw twistidz pulling out and tried to run over to you but you pulled out before i could. BTW did anybody notice me pull in/out with the top down?
