We dont have to go to Byron just a sugestion. I think I can have the car back to gether by then. If not I'll run my Daytona . By the way Hwy 2 to Byron is twist and fun to drive right along the river.

yup

We'll just have to play it by ear...
when we all meet up @ beef-a-roo then we can discuss the option to go to byron.. nicee to post the idea on here so people are aware of the option ahead of time.. cuz they will need to save back a little green, if everyone brings 20 bucks with them.. they will be able to eat lunch.. and afford to go to Byron Dragway afterwards if that's what we decidee to do.. Also.. If it is pouring down the rain, , or for some reason it is below the 32 degree mark temperature on that day.. then we might reschedule..
but lets just plan on it happening.. so far we have well over a dozen cars showing up (I hope!) which is definitely exciting! i Already talked to the lady at Beef-a-roo to let her know about it and she was cool with it.. of course.. that's money in their pocket how can they bitch!? haha.. plus think of the gapers driving by that wouldnt have stopped to eat till they saw all the cool cars!!

doesn't look good for me either, don't plan on mak'n it now. last night transmission mount or something broke. it seems like the whole trans moved couple inches. from inside, the shifter is way off. when it's in 2nd and 4th it's soo far back it's against the plastic on the shifter consol. almost like the whole trans tilted down. i'm gett'n it checked out soon, but i am seriously broke. have no idea when i'll have money to fix it.

It's great that we have all of this interest in getting together! It looks like it will turn out to be much more than I expected when I asked the original question. I hope that the weather cooperates and we get sunshine and warm weather.

So how many are planning on attending and what is everyone driving?

I'm in unless the weather is bad. I have a Blue '91 RS
The wifes coming along for the ride too.

Count

I'm hoping we can get atleast a dozen of us to do this, that would be awesome.. but the key is.. don't forget guys!!
mark it on your frigerator or something!
it will be awesome.. and from this one we can discuss doin this again somewhere else or whatever.. but we all needd to get together at this one so we can get the initial ball rolling, ,so that this summer will be cool.. we should meet somewhere to convoy together to some of the car shows around the midwest.. that wouild be something else we could all do this summer!!!

tis fine

I'm sure we'll all be hangin around B'sn for a bit.. waitin for everyone to show..besides a friend of mine who is in the Illinois camaro club is bringin some of the club members in.. so there may probably be some really beefed up 69 camaro's or something showin up too which would really be neat!
Don't sweat it if ya'all a lil late folks
we will be there chillin in the parking
lot.. till prolly 2 or a bit after before we calvary over to Byron.
if anyone get's there like wayyyyy late and noone is there.. just head for Byron. so either way you can catch up.

I'm gonna' talk to my brother-in-law. I've got a 89 Formula 350 and he has a 02 Camaro SS. Maybe we can take a cruise out there. Its abouot an hour for us. We were thinking about hitting Union Grove that day, but Byron would be just as good.

I hope everyone has a good time and decides to have another get together later this summer. As of now I'm going to TESLA show Fri night in Milwaukee, getting home late! Working Sat 8-5.
So I'll miss this one.
I'm edging near 31 so I'll let someone else wear the "Oldest" Crown this time.
I haven't dug any of the F-Bodies out of hibernation yet so Hope to meet everyone if you have another get together
Also, wondering if anyone has an Extra water Pump pulley laying around for a serpentine belt setup. My Cutlass is down right now due to loss of Pulley. If anyone has one to sell, bring it along and give it to VIC, and I'll make arrangements to get from him. Price is negotiable, E-mail or P.M. me. Thanks

I was woundering about your age and going to a TESLA show . I though I'd bee the elder but we'll do it again and you can have the crown.

May 20th at Byron is a F-body vs Y body shootout. F-cars vs the vettes. It is through the MFBA but any can race. It is a fun time and maybe I can have some other 3rd gen to run against this year sucks getting beat up on by 4th gens. BUT, I have a little friend going to help me out this year .

Looks like the weather is going to cooperate with us. 55 and sunshine sounds pretty good to me.

The point of knowing everyone's name is a good one. My first name is Craig but my nickname is Deck. It's on my plates.

As far as who gets to wear the "oldest" crown. We'll see when everyone gets there but I know who my money is on!

We should be there around noon.

See ya!

Tesla!

Tesla! haha That's Bizarre! I havent even heard anyone
mention that name since I was like 17 and learning to play
guitar.
Cumin at ya Live is my favorite tesla song.. not a huge
fan of the band but that song was kewl.. it was what was
playing in the background when cliff burton was smokin a big
fatty in the Cliff Em All Metallica video..Mind you.. the only video that metallica was EVER supposed to make as they stated so elequently in THAT video.. 80 kazillion video's later and a short hair do, and a acoustic mainstream sellout sounding albums later.. its all different now.. oh well.. see you guys tomorrow! I will be getting up early doing some HARDCORE DETAILING!!!!!!!!!!

Well guys, today is the day. Too bad the weather wasn't about 20 degrees warmer. I hope we still have a good turn out.

I spent some time cleaning up the rims this week, still not as good as I want them but they are better. I hope I don't get shown up too much!

See everyone later!

Hey Hey Hey!!

Well it was a bit chilly, and I learned
that I should not have went out drinking the night before cuz I felt like crap all day.

Vic ran his car but wasnt zactlly too happy with his times.. (is that why you sorta just vanished?) it got to cold for us
so we ended up bailing pretty soon, plus
there wasnt a large ammount of people at Byron cuz of the weather probably.
the track looked like crap.
New87 We sorta lost u.. whered you
go?
Anyways.. it was alrite.. warmer weather, and if everyone could have made it that was sposed too, ,it would have been cooler.. but it was alrite..
I should have ran my car to get some 1/4 times... oih well.. next time..

Hey Guys,

I had a good time today. A little chilly but it's early. It was nice meeting those that were able to show up. Thanks Bluebird for coordinating things.

Any interest in doing it again? Maybe June or July? If we set the date soon, maybe everyone that couldn't make it could set the date aside.

I'm open to location. Byron might be cool. We could meet and get better aquainted and those that wanted to race could while the rest of us watched.

Here are some pics that I took today. Nice cars guys!

Thanks again to Bluebird for making the arrangements.

man! that track was crap. rubber everywhere, I stuck around (didn't vanish but should have, LOL) I couldn't get my car to even run what it did last time (I've modded since) the track was so bad, new87 was nice enough to let me use drag radials, but still nothing, I'll have to wait until the track gets better.

Maybe next time we should try a sunday, that would cut down on people missing due to work a lot more.

I think byron is a great next location, its kinda a compromise for everyone, and we'd probably end up there anyways.

it was cool meeting everyone, maybe next time we can b.s. with everyone longer.

Byron

I agree, there is a drive in in Byron
that if you call them in advance, you
can set up a cruise night meet there.
the corvette club has done it in the
past. its an old 50's drive inn, where
the hotties come out and bring your
grub.
and then from there were already in
the racing town.. just head over to
the strip and wala

the cruise down alpine all together was pretty cool.. would have been even
more awesome if say there was like
30 of us or more. haha Im sure we
would lose each other at lights though

Hey, what time did everything go down today? I got to Beef-A-Roo's at 2:15 and nobody was there. I didn't get to Byron until like 3:45 and I didn't see any mass amounts of F-bodies. That track was REALLY SLICK. I couldn't hook at all. I did get an awesome burnout that went past half track though. Pulled off an amazing 18.80 on that pass. I couldn't go further than quarter throttle until half way thru second gear. Best 60' time was like 2.2. Hopefully I'll have some slicks for next weekend.

i was at beef-a-roo at 215 no one was there except a slow eclipse. so we headed out to byron around 235 and only Vic and someother people (sorry i only know Vic cause of his license plate)..i was late cause i ended up doing a friend a favor and taking him home which is across town. so i was late.....reallly late...SORRY!!!!!! the track looked like crap, and i dont know if im interested in going back there. Lets try to go to Great Lakes Drag Way. IMO its better,,and cheaper. and they just did resurface it this winter. ill be up there on tuesday (only spectator fee to race) and ill let ya know what i run! anyone want to play the guessing game on what ill run?????? lol im guessing 14.7...but im not sure. my friends car runs a 14.02 on the GTECH,, and i can beat him. I havent had a chance to GTECH mine yet....damn rain

Yup! You can't miss me. I have purple hair pulled back in a ponytail. I was driving a black FireBird. I did the killer half track burnout.

Well, at least I have some idea of what needs to be done with the car for the rest of the season. All the messing around in the garage doesn't help if you can't see the results of a full quarter mile run. I was hoping to at least get a high twelve even with crap traction. The upside of it was that at least the mustangs there were only cutting fourteens. Now I have all week to try going to a colder plug and getting tires. I'm gonna try getting some 275/60/15 slicks. With my 3.73 gears I'm running out of top end too soon. A 28" tall tire will drop me down to around a 3.42 which would be perfect. Route 66 opens this Saturday. Byron was just to give me a head start on the guys that run at 66.
