Any one around here attend the show? I was there for the weekend with my brother and his 79 Camaro. It was a huge turnout....much bigger than last year. Just curious of everyone else's reaction.

The Car Craft Summer Nationals was at the Minnesota State Fairgrounds in the Twin Cities. Its held every year about mid July....15-16th this year. My old man has a 73 AMX, my bro has a 79 Z28, and I got my 85 Camaro....we hope to bring them all next year. Maybe I can have my turboed 86 done by then too. If we spread the word we can have a third gen section there!

Yeah, I'll have to plan on going next year. I have my 67' Pontiac that is scheduled to be done by that time and my camaro. My brother has a 69' Roadrunner that he might be interested in taking too. Is there a swapmeet there too and about how many cars do you think were there this year? I think in mid July, I was in Iola, WI for their huge carshow/swapmeet. It was a blast, but too damn hot.

Yeah...they have a swap meet there too....I walked through it, but didn't find anything apealing. In fact it was kinda small...not a whole lot to choose from. But it keeps getting bigger and bigger each year. I think I heard it was about 2500 cars there for this past show.

I wish I had a semi and trailer, I have atleast a truckload of parts to sell. I use to drive truck but no longer have the truck or trailer. Couldnt afford to keep it without being in it driving it. And I hated trucking. Do you remember the cost to enter your cars and to set up a swap space? I know at Iola, to set up was $75.

I want to say it was about $40 to enter the car, driver, and passenger for the weekend. Not sure about the cost of a plot for the swap meet though. I'll look around and see if I can find more info on it.

Car: 87 IROC-Z, 82 Pace Car
I was there with 3 cars. I had an 82 Pace car, my 87 IROC and my wife's 93 Pace car. It was decent except that the planning was horrible. Opening the gates at 8am on Saturday for the show cars and spectators was stupid. It took me until 9:20 just to get in and I got there at 7:40. Then after we got thee, the roads were all covered with dust and dirt. I would think that for a show of that caliber, they would have swept the streets to keep the dust down and let the show cars in before the spectators.

I was there with my purple 89 Formula. Been to all of them. Event coordination always sucks. Besides the *****ed up way they let you in, this year was probably one of the better ones. Saturday was nutz cuz they didn't tell anyone that cruizing was banned this year. THAT pissed alot of people off. They really liked driving around I guess.
