my 91 formula

here is some pics of my 91 formula. its a 305 tbi auto. i bought it from my couzin in august yet my plans are to get the motor built up a little, put a different tranny in that i have, and then hopefully get it repainted. what do you think? anyone know what it is roughly worth? runs great. very little rust, only on the passenger side wheel well.

Cool car, but not a Formula. Formulas have different wheels, spoiler, hood, only one set of lamps in the nose, no GFX.

well i ran i have no clue, but according to my vin number on car fax it comes back to be a 91 formula. i think i might change the nose to the older style like a 89 nose because mine has a big warp in it on the drivers side. would i need to change alot.

See if you can find the RPO codes...glovebox lid or in the rear locking storage compartment. If you can, you'll be able to check to see if the car has WS6 (which all Formulas had) and also the Formula code itself, which I can't recall off-hand.

I might have spoken too soon on the wheels...you might have the correct ones. Are they 16"?

If you swap to the earlier nose, I believe you will have to change the inner support and the headlights, and maybe do some minor rewiring.

Ok, you are going to want to check for RPO code W66. This will tell if it is a Formula.

Also, what engine does it have? 8th digit of the VIN will tell you.

alright well the car has 15 in wheels, and the Vin is 1G2FS23E2ML247052.
I found alot of codes on the rear trunk storage, and there are these codes that have 5 lines that have 3 letters in them and are 13 of them, but the 5th one only has 6 in it. are these the codes i should post?? thanks

Yep, those are the RPO codes that will tell you every option the care had. I don't see the W66 Formula code, or the WS6 suspension code that all Formulas had. Looks like it is not a Formula.

If you do a Google search, you shoulkd be able to find an RPO code decoder to see what every one of those codes means. I did it for my cars a few months ago.

Carfax is worthless , its a scam that never has updated info on the cars
only time it is good if the car was a salvage and retitled in the same state it was salvaged from . It sucks if you title into another state because it does not see the title from the other states some times.
Thats a nice bird , you don't see alot of them with that ground effects package. I have 92 bird with that ground effects. Your better off replacing that front nose with a new one, and getting the 2 front gfx that your missing that attach to the nose. I would run the engine and tranny till it pukes concentrate on the body and paint job if the engine is still good. The 305 tbi
is a good solid motor. I am on 130000 on my motor and tranny still running
good as new. I think there great engines yea there no 350. But why stick money into something thats not broke . If any thing do the body and check
out the supension thats a worth while upgrade while you wait for the motor to poop out.

well my nose isnt bad except for the indent on the drivers side, which i might beable to get fixed! the engine is fine with 118,000 on it! id like to get my heads ported and get a difference intake and stuff for it! and headers and full exhaust system! as far as the tranny, id like to make it a manual, but i dont know yet. and for the body, it isnt that bad, im going to fix the rust on the wheel well and get it painted sometime! the car isnt being driving right now, and i wont have it out til i get most of the stuff done on it that i want to.
Thanks guys,
PontiacKid

I totally agree with dan. My car was bone stock and girly when I got it. Thats pretty much what I'm doing with my car, but I plan to swap for a TA rear with disc brakes and better gearing, and also swap in a manual when I do a motor swap sometime in the next couple years. I love the GFX on these cars, so I definitely agree with keeping the bumper cover. I'm totally jealous of your T-tops though.

thanks, i never really noticed that gfx missing! i found a nose in illinois. i want to put some formula rims on it, or strip mine and polish them. the t tops are nice, and they do not leak at all.
