Almost chrome powder coat color would look like **** on a set of wheels, though it looks fine for engine parts in most cases. It's just not smooth enough of a texture to be on large flat areas like wheels.
Just about any other color looks great though. There's a guy here in Des Moines that does powder coating. http://www.buckshotmotorsports.com and his name is Rick Blackford. You have to be carefull with wheels though as you can lose the temper of heat treated aluminum at the cure temps unless you use low temp powders or a UV cure lamp. Let me know if you end up talking to him.
Dynodan, I'm not sure what you're talking about. You can't powder coat plastic because the plastic wouldn't handle the cure temperatures of 400-500 degrees in an oven.

Jesus I am sorry on that I re read what i typed and realized I had it type backwards on the statement. Plastic can not be powder coated , but I believe it can be chromed by a process like on the older cars, but only 1 or 2 companys do it.
Why not just anodize the wheels . I am not a powder coater by trade, but our company builds the systems that cure the powder coating. Heating systems that is .
You might want to try the thomas registry also. It will list every company or a great amount that powder coat.
Now clear something up for me , can't he also have the chroming done by dipping, other than having it done by power coating?

Caswell Plating sells home chrome kits, as do many other companies.

this is funny at least to me because when you buy the "chrome paint" besides the fact it looks like butt, they clearly know this and go to great lengths to have the plastic cap painted with the special paint you mentioned and then dipped talk about your all time missleading products
