ok scratch the idea of me wanting a bandit II after doing more resaerch on them....i think they are too cheesy and too weak..i love the shaker hood tho..but all in all it didnt take me long to ditch the idea of owning a bandit II...
but if i can get this car that im looking at (89 t/a 305tpi 5speed) im planning on yanking that engine and sticking in a 383 or 406 with an edelbrock pro-flo kit on it that i got laying around here..im goin to rig up that shaker hood on the stock hood..that is what makes that look sweet..that hood..shouldnt be that hard to make a functional shaker hood out of a stock 3rd gen. hood...
but still keeping my eyes out for that Tojan..

Do some research on shaker scoops. I was fitting a scoop from a '78 trans am I had onto a firebird and it wouldn't fit--it was too long and interfered with the distributor. I think the "banditt" scoops were copies of earlier scoops from 70-76 or so. Many different sizes were around, so read up on dimensions. They do look sweet though.

Car: 91 Firebird Formula
Engine: ZZ4 fast burn with TPIS mini ram.
Transmission: Viper T10 6 spd.
Axle/Gears: 3.73
It can be done,do a search on the Fabrication board.
I was considering doing it when I was going to do the 455 Pon. swap. Not all 2nd gen scoops are the same, remember 2nd gen TA's could be had with a Olds,Pon.,turbo motor. The offset they have comming off the carb are all different so they will all set the scoop in different ares of the hood.
