color change time in st. louis.. Maaco?

im a college student and am makin the change from green to high gloss black.. im going to do the insides of the door panels, and trunk.. and the engine compartment is already done. i dont want to spend more than a grand.. can maaco handle it, and do a good looking, quality job if i pay say.. 8, 900? i havent been yet.. but im closest to the maaco in hazelwood by the ford plant.. if anybody has any experience

Your a student like I am. Save your money till your done with school. You will have plenty of money for a good paintjob then. Why coat your pride and joy with substandard goods as a temporary fix? You will thank yourself later for not doing it this way. The price will be less expensive down the road in labor if you don't do this! I'm painting my car dark teal metallic when I get the cash saved up. Keep changing the oil and take care of it, it will last.

i appreciate the advice.. and i had decided on that route.. but one of my buddies knew a guy who owns a body shop.. we got to talkin.. and im gonna be able to get it done right for about the same price.. hes gonna do all the spraying and let me do all the masking and sanding steps, but with his equipment... and no cost for labor.. so thanks.. ill post a pic when its all done

I am going to sleep better now. I just can't stand a substandard paintjob on a thirdgen. They are everywhere I look. It's sad.
