Lapeer Dragway
I'll be there tomorrow (Saturday) seeing what my car can do. I can't wait. The last time I was there, my Firebird ran 16.20's in stock form (LG4 w\ 5-speed). With the recent upgrades, I'm hoping to be in the 12's. If any of you are in the area, stop in. Test and tune starts at noon. It costs $25 to enter and there's a trophy race.

I don't go to Lapeer anymore as every time we go they find some reason we can't run. We are to fast and need a cage or they don't like our tires or something. If you have a old Mopar they don't seem to have a problem with how fast you run. The guys I hang with all have fast cars and every time we go they find a reason to shut us down.

From I-75: Take Exit 81 (Palace of Auburn Hills). Go North on M-24 to Lapeer. Go Approx. 3 miles north of Lapeer to Daley Road and turn right (just past a BP gas station on the right). Go 2 miles to Roods Lake Road and turn left. Go 1.5 miles on Roods Lake Road and Lapeer International Dragway is on the left.

Thanx man. Hopefully I'll figure out why my car is shifting so bad. Then I'll just have to finish breaking it in before I can have any real fun with it

I'm going tomorrow for sure. I'll post the results on Monday.
I'll go out on a limb here and make a prediction: 12.86 @ 112mph.
Funny thing is, if/when I run 12.99 or faster, they'll probably disqualify me - I don't have a blow proof bell housing.

Well, I didn't break into the 12's as I'd hoped, but I got damn close.
I made three passes. In the first race, I was up against a '97 Z-28. The driver said that it was pretty much stock, except for the K&N air filter, exhaust (shorty headers, HP cats, no mufflers), 3.73 gears and Nitto drag radials. Don't laugh at my pathetic reaction time! It's been a while since I've been to the track. I let off the gas early (thought I was at the end of the 1/4 mile). That's why the MPH is so low.
In the second race, I was up against a newer model Camaro SS. I didn't talk to the driver, so I don't know any of his specs. Judging by his times, I'd guess that it was bone stock. I think I overheard one of his friends say that it was a 2001.
The Camaro SS owner aparently wanted a rematch. When I headed for the line of cars to race the third time, he jumped in his car and got behind me (you either race the car in front of you, or the car behind you in line). He shaved .2 off his previous time, but the mighty 4th gen was no match for my 3rd gen.
I have the last 2 runs on video (mpeg format). I'll try to upload them onto the net later today. They're kind of big files (5 & 8 meg).

I know, that's pretty bad. I'll have to go back and try again soon. I should be able to break into the 12's with tuning alone. I didn't even play with the timing yet (the advance is set at 8* - stock setting).
Does anyone know of any free web hosting sites that allow more than 5 megs of storage (like geocities.com). I can't upload the videos - they're too big!

darn
I was able to upload them to a tripod account. Unfortunately, since it is a free account, they can't be downloaded by a remote user.
