Fall Gathering Volo Auto Museum Oct 20 (details inside)

Volo Auto Museum
27582 Volo Village Road
Volo, IL 60073

www.volocars.com

Time: 10am - 5 pm

I contacted them today and the 20th of October is ours for 4$ a person plus a 1$ charge for the meeting room per person(oct weather can be iffy so we're covered either way)......

As far as the present itenerary for the day, i figure that we can use the meeting room as a gathering point from 10-11am and hopefully collect everyone into one group and then proceed from there

Food is available at the food courts located at the museum.......
unfortuneately cooking out does not look to be an option, but they say they will check it out and let me know :-(

Current line of thinking is eat lite at the museum and then at 4-5pm when we head out we will invade whatever restaurant is local out there and have a thirdgen feast :-)

As far as parking goes we most likey wont be able to use the "collector car parking" but she said we could use whatever space we wish on the grass(huge field/lot), so we will be able to keep all the cars together and have a rallying point for people coming in.....

We need volunteers(someone close would be easiest i imagine) to possibly bring out the chips and pop, etc......they do have picnic tables and walkways etc, outside if the weather holds out and/or we get stuck in the meeting room to gather we can at least have some refreshments available for everyone.

We do need to have a complete listing of all members who will be attending for an accurate headcount as is possible ....one week before the event i will have to call volo so the passes/tickets identifying our party will be mailed to me
So if u plan on attending u must reply here and give an accurate as possible count of the members of your party. I will periodically review and update the list up to the last day possible and i will try to arrange something for people who have to arrive late or last minute attendees as well(sure we can do something), but volo requests an accurate as possible head count..
later
Your CEOG (Chief Executive Officer of Gatherings) :-) lol

heres the map for everyone :

In review :-)
what: Thirdgen Gathering
where: Volo Auto Museum(Volo,IL)
when : Oct 20 (sunday)

Only bad thing i've found out so far is unfortuneately a toys for tots(bad for people, good for the kids though) cruise will be ending there at some point during the day most likey later in the afternoon.............so as long as we get their at the 10-10:30 am range we should have a great day and be finshing up when they arrive to get started....

Well, I know I'll be there for sure. However the GTA will not be there...unless I win the lottery. I got the heads off and the block is cracked between cylinders 3 and 5. If you see a cheap 93' escort please don't laugh at me. Its all I got right now. ^_^

I recieved the passes in the mail today from volo

Passes will be required to gain access to the meeting room...

I plan on arriving at 10am (when they open)..........

We need to pick a time for the most number of people will arrive to hand passes out.............

We will need an accurate account as possible of the number of people attending by next sun evening.................

Any takers for bringing stocked coolers and/or snack food or bring your own?........................

Try to get as many to attend as possible whether it be friend/family or with/without their thirdgen, its about having a good time and meeting the area thirdgenners.............

bye for now

Heh, if you come I can show you guys a 250 cubic inch big block. Yes, a real TWO 50 cubic inch bb. Very odd, but hey its in my dads boat.

I plan on attending with my wife but it's still up in the air. My wife's Mom is dying of cancer and so our attendance will depend on how that situation goes.

What's the latest time that we can still get in?

Let me know.

Well, heres the plan :-)

not muich of one but it works for now since im extremely friggin busy :-( too many projects and too little time and hands :-(

Since the majority of us should be there in the 10-11am range (and i have the passes: needed for the meeting room).

We will all wait/meet outside , so whomever gets there first pick a parking spot /lawn that has room to spare.

I plan on leaving my house at 8am which should get me there almost exactly at 10am provided no fools decide to eat the barriers on 80 :-) lol

As for those folks who happen to be arriving later, it shouldnt be a problem. by the middle of this week, i should have 2 cell phone numbers from our group that u will be able to call and im going to need someone froim the stirling crew side of things to also post a cell number so whomever is late will at least be able to get ahold of someone who has extra passes...........

so lets make this a real showing and i just want to see some thirdgens for once :-( is that too much too ask ? :-)

When I asked my dad, he said "why not". So I think were going. Count two more people in. Were coming from a bit north of Milwaukee.

I plan on being there at 10am sharp(crossing fingers)

should be a minimum of 6 of us leaving here and a possible max of 10 depending ona few work schedules...

If u read this post and want to come feel free to join in on the fun, and we welcome last minuters and we going to be there either way.

Here a few cell phone numbers for people who may become lost or are arriving late, if u call we can help u out and meet u out front as i will make sure all who allowed their cell numbers to be posted will have at the least an extra pair of passes...

3.8TransAM(Jeremy(me)and Danielle(her cell)) 1-219-313-6835

TAturbo(chris) 1-815-632-7175

nndestiny(nick(his cell)and nicole) 1-219-730-7651

Vicv8rs91 1-815-499-4222

And please remem they are letting us use their phones for this meeting so please be courteous and use them only if needed the day of the event

As far as passes i will have the passes available for all who come to the event and should be their first thing at 10am and we will need to take up a collection/payment of $5 a head for the passes. Melissa(volo contact) said that if u beat us their to inquire at the entrance about the thirdgen.org meet and she should have passes available as backup should anything happen on the way

I hope to see a lot of u there :-)
thank you
Jeremy/3.8TransAM(idiot or savior? midwest/nw in board?) lol

Just wanted to let everyone know what i think the easiest way to get there is. I see that most of you guys are coming from northwest indiana. Well if i were coming from that(know the area, from monon) i would take 80-94 west to 294 north. Take 294 north until you come too 88. Go west on 88(can only go west here, that is here 88 starts)Take 88 too 355 north. 355 north will eventually meet with 290. 290 east will turn off to the right to head downtown. Don't go that way, keep going north(i think it will say 290 west now(but you will also see signs for 53 north,355 becomes 53) Follow 53-290 north until rand road(which is also route 12) Now you can take rand road west, well actually kinda northwest, but rand road will run right into volo. I have never been there, but i assume we will see signs.

You guys my have already known that, but since i was from this area, i thought i would lend a hand in gettting there. If you have any questions you can call my cell-630-251-5649. See you tomorrow
