My first Camaro
Not sure if this is the right place.
I was just posting to say hi. Here is a picture of my first Camaro. I've always loved these. 1986 IROC
The clear coat is failing and the paint is thin. But its looks pretty to me.
I bought it from a guy taking it apart to LS swap it. I think he had a dream of putting high HP in it. But his way of taking it apart baffles me.
Anyway I am putting it back together as best I can to see what I have. It runs now. Figured out the flex plate and torque converter isn't bolted together.
Finding most of the bolts etc are MIA. same with the engine parts that he got rid if (think half taken apart and unhooked...)
Anyway not trying to complain because I picked up what is a pretty rust free car in a price range I could justify. And I love the thing.
My plan is to get it running and driving good with the 305 TPI and see what it needs. Clean up the interior and get it where I want it. Then drive it and enjoy it.
paint can wait as I really don't mind the look for now.
Oh and a pic. in my shop at work so I can get under it without laying in the gravel etc.

Re: My first Camaro
My dad and I got that many years ago It is a 1965 GTO. It was originally a Tri-Power 4spd car. The original motor was long gone. But it had a Pontiac 428 out of a Bonneville in it. So we sourced a nice Tri power and did a bunch of stuff to make it nice again. The car had been done up nice except the motor.
Unfortunately, Dad passed away 2 years ago. Mom still has the title but it sits at my work collecting dust. I hope to one day be able to get it from her. For now it sits.
Unfortunately, I don't think I have to many pics of it on this machine. Here are a couple of the tri-power I had on my phone.
