Edgewood had like 3 3rd gens...91/92 RS,82-84 firebird and an 88 camaro sport coupe. The 88 was a 305 5 speed car but the trans was already gone. They also had a few 4th gens.Me and my buddy hit 3 crazy rays yards yesterday.Edgewood,Jessup and Mt Airy.If anyone is interested the crazy rays in Mt Airy had a red 97 z28 with a disc brake rear.Rotors were drilled and slotted. The LT-1 motor was gone.It had grey leather seats but they looked really dirty.

You missed this at the Edgewood CR's...

I got it today for $24. It was on a V6 4th gen that had the rear end in the air and the catback missing. Maybe you got the catback?

Re: Junkyards in DE or MD

any of them have any good dash pads for a firebird and/or tan beechwood interiors, looking for a drivers side floor mat as well and a back up dash.

looking for any extra set of good lexan t-tops as well.

thx

Re: Junkyards in DE or MD

Nah I didnt get the catback.I didnt miss that either cause I dont usually look for that kind of stuff.Even if I did find it I would have left it there.I mostly look for interior parts.Anyway crazy rays is on the more expensive side. The yards around here charge way less for parts.Only reason I want to travel out of state is because Im tired of looking at the same old picked over f bodies and am hoping to find some fresh new ones to pull parts from.Out of curiosity does anyone know how often they rotate out the cars at crazy rays?

I'd love to shop where you do normally if CR's is expensive.

No idea how often they rotate the cars, sorry.

Re: Junkyards in DE or MD

I've been to the one on erdman and personally don't like the place.
Recently the 3rd gens have been slim and the one they did get in that i wanted parts off of i waited three weeks and they kept telling me they hadnt got the paper work in...

Last time i was there me and my buddy took the hatch of a firebird and sat it on the ground so that someone else could use it (we needed something and it was in our way) and when we went back the next week someone had smashed it and just destroyed the car in general... The only things they took are what my buddy needed.

We haven't been back since.
So does anyone know of a pick it urself place that has alot of third gens?

Re: Junkyards in DE or MD

Yea, erdman is pretty bad. Found a dashpad in a formula there once, but that's about it. Hawkins Point always has a decent number of third gens, usually with good parts too, it's always my first stop.

Re: Junkyards in DE or MD

2801 Hawkins Point Rd., Baltimore (410) 354-4800

I'm not sure where Jarrettsville is, but depending on which way you're going, it's either the last exit before you cross the key bridge on the outerloop or the first exit after you cross the bridge on the innerloop. Mapquest it, it's really easy to find, you can almost see it from 695

Re: Junkyards in DE or MD

Well I just messed up my transmission the other day so there is a good chance I'll be looking at that place. I think I need a new torque converter or something along those lines (trans in o/d wont shift until about 4k rpm and on the highway if i let off the gas rpm's go back to idle range. Once i get on the gas it goes back up to where the rpms should be at that speed and then i can feel it grab and pull fine. Anyone have any tips that require the least amount of money? dont have alot right now
