Recon. Rims
hey guys,
new guy around here. I just met Steve this past saturday for some new seats. And BTW Steve, my dad loves'em. But anyway, to my question.
I believe that our 1990 Formula has some '92 Firehawk rims. While doing research for some parts, I found new ones online, but they want 1500.00 for a set of four. So, NO WAY !!
I do like these rims, but I need them refinshed. So I need some help. I believe I found a post about sand blasting rims, and I guess that would be a way to get them really clean. But where do I go from there. I'm at a loss.
So if anyone can throw some tips my way. Or if some one can restore them, can ya shot me something.
Thanks guys,
~Drew

Wheel Collision Center, located in Bath pa, just outside of Allentown, can restore any rim to like new condition. He can straighten, weld, and refinish to exact oem specs. They also do plating, polishing etc. They are not cheap though. You will pay a minimum of 100 bucks for a cosmetic only restoration. Repairing gouges, and bends will add to the price. I had 4 vette wheels done 10 years ago and they still look great. At that time, I spent $425 for all four wheels. Most people would have thrown away my rims. They were pretty bad.

I know Keystone recon's wheels and the ones I have seen from them looked great. Pop on by there or hit up twsyted87 as he knows someone over there and may have more details.
