anyone using a SANDEN air cond compressor ?
hi guys,
its almost summer over here and of coruse I tried the air conditioning yesterday - not a hint of cool air. Over the last two years I've pumped close to $1800 into the A/C including getting a reco compressor over from the states last year.
Had the system leak tested yesterday afternoon and it seems my "new" compressor has a leaky seal after less than 12 months - I guess you get what you pay for
Anyway - the aircon guy testing it suggested putting a new sanden compressor on instead with a mounting adapter.
Has anyone else here got a SAnden on their thirdgen ? I have an 86 TA LG4 btw. Also - if so - which model - SD5 or SD7 or ?
This'll cost another bucket load to do but I'd say it'd be cooler than the other compressors were on 134 anyway.

I havent done it on a thirdgen, but I see no reason you couldnt. Only real hurdles would be fabbing up a mounting bracket, and hooking up the lines. I dunno if it will mount as low as the stock compressor and still clear the valve cover though, there may be enough space though since the Sanden isnt as large diameter wise.
