This is sooo awesome! In for updates. Glad to know I am not the only intake hoarder... I have 3 superrams, recently sold one so I had 4... While not nearly as rare and valueable though!

Re: "it" has begun....
Thanks for the interest but I think right now these will be a one shot and done type of thing for me. So much is wrong with this 1st batch and its proving to be a huge pain for me just to get 4 good ones with the correct image and letter font.
If I can somehow get things correct I may do something down the road.
How much would a set of these in black run?[/QUOTE]

No huge updates (yet) but thought it was interesting to see the original (think its a early replacement?) fuel filter on this car especially with its age and milage.
Scored some assembly line correct fuel filters 6/1/22

Re: "it" has begun....
Finally!! After years and years of searching..
A few teaser pix below but these are 13" brembos used on the 92 Hawks. This set is actually from a bird racecar (owned by Matt Adams, Herb Adams son) that raced in the firehawk supercar series. Only have one season on them and they have been sitting since! Little cleanup and they'll be gtg.
I also spotted the correct vintage clutch on one of his shelves so I picked it up for a spare too.
what a great trip!
Matt tossed in a couple of Herbs vintage Fire Am t-shirts and posters with the brakes. VERY cool of him to do that.
Also told me stories from back in the day (a few blocks over from his current house) when all the big name Pontiac engineers came over and built cool race cars in the family garage at night.

Re: "it" has begun....
I dig that the patina on this set of brakes matches the car, I will clean them up a bit and install a street brake pad instead of the track pads.

Have a few things to get before I can put them on and they should be here soon, new bearings, seals, hoses, pads, street length wheel studs and a few odds n ends hardware.

Finished up some charcoal canister relocation details and buttoned it all up. (I did clean up the black marks on the inner fender before closing it up)

Re: "it" has begun....
Hope to have an update next month or so but I'm going to backtrack to the very beginning where this project (almost) started.
After a couple years of reading up on the 1LE and SLP parts, I knew I wanted something unique. Had my notes, rpo codes and dealer info ready. This is one of the 1st times I sat down at the dealer to help them order what I really wanted. I had even gotten as far as asking the zone office if I could get this car with A/C, I received an answer of "maybe, we'll double check and get back to you".
How cool would this have been to be the last firebird built in 92? If I only knew then what I know now..
To make a long story short, this car never was ordered and I ended up with my 89 Formula 350 (TTOP350) which I still own.
Many years later I stumbled across a post on here about a JY 92 formula 305tpi 5speed, ttops, R6P and the SLP package. (turns out, it was about 3-4 options off of what I wanted to order). How the car ended up with me is a special story in itself.
With a HUGE Thanks to Greg, the stage was set to rebuild my dream car that was never even ordered.

All good stuff Tony. This thread means more to me since I've seen the car. Would love to see it again some day.
I see a "Schmidt" signed the order form from the Schmidt dealer. Was he the dealer principle?

IIRC, Dean was the owners son. The dealer has moved closer to the interstate but the old building is still there.

This build is something I'm looking forward to watching! Mouth is watering all these SLP parts, I love seeing something period correct.
