Trans am 1982 in Mexico.
Hello everybody
let me introdue myself, my name is jonathan, i am from Toluca city , in Mexico.
yesterday I saved this Trans am to be sold to junk yard from one of my neighborg i get it for 1000 USDls, he has this TA storage for almost 20 years,it was property of one of the mexico ex presidents "jose lopez portillo" mybe no sense for you but in that years only corrupt politicians have acces to this kind of vehicles. my neighbor used to work in tax office he bought from them due to the car was seizure .
This kind of TA is quite difficult to find far away from the northborder and the parts quite impossible, but i think he deserves a 2nd chance to go back in the highway, i am not sure if the engine is the original 305 because in there are a remains of smog lines , quadrajetcarb , but with out HEI distributor, heater was cancelled and AC compresor is not there.
inside ,there are 87 TA seats, strange panasonic head unit , not look aftermarket. cluster is complete, i dont know if it works.
oil leakeage everywhere.
i will work in them to return to life ,i will try to get big amounth of proper parts for restore, but some of other need to be repair by my self , due to import dueties and shipment from USA in a big parts are really expensive.
thanks in advance and save the birds.

Welcome aboard! ![waveman](https://www.thirdgen.org/forums/images/smilies/waveguy.gif)
Looks like a fun project. Keep us posted on your progress.
FYI...I understand what you are saying about parts prices. I have a friend in Venezuela working on a '70s Mopar, and getting parts imported is a time consuming and expensive process.
