I thought those went out of style a long time ago. I never liked or understood them unless your front end was just plowed in and you needed a quick cover-up.

Re: Trans am gta lebra??
The best bras to me,
Are by Colgan.
LeBra is a name brand bra.
I have owned LeBra bras before, and they are not as good as a Wolf or Colgan bra.
Wolf is OK, but the one I had, you slipped over the hood, shut the hood, then attached the rest to the car.
Colgan is two pieces, so you can open the hood on your car, leaving both pieces still attached.
And yes, putting on a bra and having it on can get small rocks, and dirt and dust behind the bra, scratching the paint.
I only use a bra, when driving on the Freeway for long distances.
I take mine off all the time, clean the back of it of rocks and dirt, and store it off to the side.
I have never had a problem with the paint, by doing this.
I do still have a LeBra, but only because I found one in tan, not black.
All the bras usually come in black.
Years back, there were places that would make them custon, in the cars matching color.
I sure wish I had done that.
Hope this helps,
George

Re: Trans am gta lebra??
About 50% of the thirdgens I've owned came with bras in the trunk. I've had several of the Lebra brand and they seem to fit fine. The others I've had, haven't been marked with brand names, but they're usually 1pc designs that fit like garbage. They've all got the same problem... They're supposed to breathe so you don't have to remove them when they get wet, and the soft backing is supposed to not damage the paint. But they don't breathe, and dirt/dust will wash from the upper surfaces down the hood into the bra, becoming abrasives trapped between the bra and the paint. Even if you just use them on long drives, unless they're pulled tight, they'll flap in the wind and abrade the paint.
About the only time they're good is if you need to cover up existing damage. If your car doesn't have problems and you put a bra on it, you'll have problems.

Re: Trans am gta lebra??
There are always people who hate bras.
Yes, most people only use them to hide paint.
I would be fearful of using a "used" bra, as they could have crap stuck in the white inner section of the bra.
I have only used new bras, and only on the car when driving on the freeway, as it does keep the nose from getting rock chips.
As I said, I take it right off after.
I clean the bra every time.
I have a 1989 20th Anniversary Turbo Trans Am with no damage to the nose, and it (the bra) has protected the nose very well.
I show the car quite abit.
And I've been using the bras since I bought my car way back when she was new.
That's 1989!
Be careful if and when you use a bra.
I don't know how you will use one, if you get one.
I am not even sure if anyone still carries them new, since the cars are so old.
I have bought a few off ebay, new in the box.
I would check there.
Good luck in your search,
George

Re: Trans am gta lebra??
I've been able to source both LeBras amd Wolfe quite readily. I do have to say that with my white Firebird, there is a definite colour change between the covered and non-covered areas. Having said that, since I cover a lot of miles per day, as George says, it does save on the paint damage.

Here in Canada, Lordco seems to have no problem getting them. I'm not sure if you can order directly from Wolfe or at least get a list of their outlets.

Re: Trans am gta lebra??
I have never had a bra do damage to a car. Had flying rocks pit a front end up though. My 02 formual had a excellent paint job and a bra. I took if off for about a month and had paint chips all over front end. I think it has to do with the shape of the front, but definitly get a bra if you drive alot.

Did a little digging for you. Apparently Wolf and LeBra are made by Global Accessories.
http://www.global-accessories.com/
I did a quick look at their website and you can order from them. This is the part number for the Trans Am GTA: 55133-01, Price is $97.99.
Hope that helps.
Gary.

I'd only ever use one if I was travelling up to fort mac again. Saves the paint especially on that high way

You're welcome.
My bad on posting the wrong part number - I had looked at the original post.
