Re: Post your firebird pics
Went from this basically as it looks here without a motor and still factory color engine bay. To the 406TPI/T5 setup that I am running now. Painted the bay before motor went in.
After that drove it for the summer with paint as it was.
Then at the end of the summer/beginning of fall I did my first ever paint job on it. Took about Sept. to November. This was with working 2 jobs and going to college full time to so that was the main hold up. Anyways here are some shots just after it was finished and back together.
Had a friend of mine thats still in high school take these shots just after Chirstmas. Most recent changes have mainly been new tires and I plasti dipped the rims but kept the outer lip silver. I think it turned out decent. Was just something different to cover up the not so great condition original rims.
One of these days I will get around to starting a build thread. Just to busy with work and school...

Re: Post your firebird pics
Well, I went and got myself another bird. Here she is... yet to be named, a 1986 base model v6. The interior looks immaculate. The previous owner kept it garaged, drove it rarely, and it just rolled over 100,000 miles this past weekend. I've got the receipts from the last 24 years from every oil change, every tune up, everything that was done to the car. I'm the 3rd owner.

Re: Post your firebird pics
why thank you very much maks! its my first car and it was in terrible shape when i bought it. hardly any paint, more electrical problems that i knew what to do with, bad transmission, engine kept knocking, bad interior everything, and worst of all a strut had broke its mount and punched right through the hood. but I jumped in head first and it was too late to get out of it. but I kept going at it and now its back to being a cool car. so having some one complement it is beyond awesome

Re: Post your firebird pics
^no prob...always like to see different style thirdgens ...cool to see you revived the bird based off the original condition
paint looks good...especially first time ever painting...eventually would like to learn to paint...always wonder how thirdgens make it thru snow pics bc even with this pic im sure you had some icy roads getting there

Re: Post your firebird pics
maks, did you have to modify the inside of the hood to fit the HSR? My buddy had one and had to cut the bracing so the intake wouldn't rub on the inside of the hood?

Re: Post your firebird pics
Here's my newest adddition. 89 Formula 350, all original and unmolested with 65k. In the paint shop right now for fixing a few stones chips and scratches and small amount of rust I found under the t tops. Should have it back by the weekend. I have a lot of detaling to do, to get it ready for cruise ins and shows. It is in really good shape and was well taken care of thru the years.

Re: Post your firebird pics
My 87 Formula 350, 54,000 miles. 383, 190 AFR, SuperRam intake, custom Comp Cam, Dana 44 with 3.54. Love the car I've had it since 1989. It had 9000 miles on it when I purchased it off the used car lot at the dealer I was working for. Been playing with it for 24 years. First exhaust and bolt on's got the car running low 14's. Then built up 350, headers, cam intake got down to low 13's, now 383 down to low 12's. Now thinking of going to a T-56 and forget about the automatic. I love driving a manual trans and my 700r4 is out of the car with problems.

Car: 1988 Pontiac Firebird (FireTurd)
Engine: sbc 350
Transmission: B.W W.C T-5
Axle/Gears: welded 10 bolt
Re: Post your firebird pics
FireTurd is still a work in progress slowly but surely. 88' firebird with a fully built first gen sbc 350 swap bored .30 to a 355cid and b.w w.c t-5. last ran 12.25 @ 121 with stock radiator, no fan, no tune and naturally aspirated. Now has dual pass radiator w/ twin 12" electric fans, dyno tune, 100 shot and msd power grid controller system plus many other new goodies.
