Thank you very much! Just actually finished with the exhaust! Picking the tips was almost the hardest part. Lol. You have quite a beautiful car as well. I've seen some pics on here. And thanks! My shine is a never ending care process.

Man that white GTA is amazing looking! Lots of beautiful birds on this thread.
And thanks about the tips! I love the sound too! (Of my exhaust, not the tips)

EXAMPLE PIC!!!
you like these ones?? if so, they arent bad at all. i just have a vision for my car that those tail lights are souly included in..plus i just think the are sexy. they have the same sectional pattern..big brake section and smaller inner reverse lights..guess the red part would blink instead of the yellow turn signals on my current setup.

Well if your car already had these taillights it would be easier to swap to the 82-84 type, but since you have a 91, I think you might need a harness from a different car for the taillights because of the way the parking lights/brakelights function. Personally, I Think 91-91 Trans Am's have the best looking taillights. Yet they are extremely rare and expensive. I'll stick to my 89 Trans Am grids because they are dead sexy

Those are the 91 and 91 trans am only tail lights. Very rare, and very sexy IMO! They ussually sell for around $500-$700 for a set of nice ones...if your lucky enough to find some for sale.

^^What whitedevil said!
They are extremely rare seeing as they were only on 91-92 Trans Am's and those were the years the least TAs were produced. On top of that, those lights are known for having the most problems. The grid pattern tends to "delaminate" over the years from sun and heat causing the grids to Peel off the plastic. Also the PONTIAC lettering is almost always faded off on those lights. That's why a pair like those in good shape is so expensive. Yet, a set like the one's you want would be moderately cheap. And as for the harness, you could always try to re-wire yours first before using One from another car.

Lmfao. Great analogy. But yea, it seems like an extremely risk to spend so much on light knowing that they're so prone to breaking.

i dont have any close ups of my delamination but mine started in a small area that you can almost miss if you dont pay attention. these tail lights have pontiac written but only in black so its almost invisible. not sure why mine is not in red lettering? think i like it just the way it is.

thanks mike! not everyone likes the 91 model it was a transition into the fourthgen, but i sure like it. The rear spoiler is on of the best features imo.
btw, your car is fricken clean! dont make any changes to its outside apperance. they hit it on the money from factory

Re: Post your firebird pics
WOW. So many beautifull cars. I see all these cars and want to do so much to mine, but im trying to decide where the line is between upgrading, and ruining a pretty much unmolested car. I've already decided that a 6 speed swap is not going to happen bc i don't want to cut into this car (while i was looking for a 3rd gen, i figured auto didn't matter bc i could swap). But then i think about ugrading the interior with some leather seats and such, but im on the fence about that as well... I figure why mess with the interior when all the cloth and everything is 100% you know? Anyway, i posted an intro to my car and myself here:
https://www.thirdgen.org/forums/auto...re-thread.html
post 29 and 30 before i saw this thread where it fits better.

Re: Post your firebird pics
Ben Jammin, what a great looking car. If it's as clean under the skin as it is on the outside, you've really got something. Also, IMHO, a 6-speed swap done right will never hurt the value of the car. A TTA or some other rare and super desirable 3rd gen, maybe, but they built enough formulas that it's not like you're destroying a piece of history or something in the process. Besides, you'll love the 6 compared to the auto, trust me. Also, I wouldn't get rid of the wheels. You will not be impressed with the handling and response of the original rims and tires after what you have now.
Anyways, on to the main topic. I know I've put them up elswhere, but I will share them here as well. Here's my '88 GTA after I cleaned it up the other day. It's a factory L98 car with 87,000 garage kept original miles. It's about as clean inside and out as any I've ever come across. No mods yet, but eventually she will recieve most of the extra parts from my black '87. Keeping the mods tastefull and mostly under the skin with this one aside from the wheels and brakes.

Ben and cal, very very nice cars. Lovin the color scheme on the formula Ben, the wheels look great too. Welcome to the site!
Cal30, modify away! Will be nice when you are done. The only GTA I would ever own to keep stock is the Digital Dash optioned ones.

Re: Post your firebird pics
Thanks guys, I appreciate it. Im not sure its a Formula though. It has the WS6 & W66 options (which I understand the W66 to be all the Formula options but not a Formula), but I'm starting to question the validity of the option codes sticker. It says the car is supposed to have cruise control, but it does not. Could be it was removed after the 305 - 350 swap, but I don't know. When I have some time, I'm going to get a Haynes manual or just google how the cruise control was laid out and see if i can find any remnants of it.

Thanks for the info Charcoalbird. I just looked at the sticker again and I just realized the vin is also on there, and it matches. But it seems like I read somewhere that people doctor those stickers. I guess i dont really care what it is; I'm loving the car. But it is nice to know for sure what you have and makes the car more interesting. I love thirdgen.org! So many ideas come to mind seeing all your cars.

I do agree though, doesn't matter what it is as long as you are happy with it. My car is a V6, but I have slowly made it into what I want. I have more modifications I would like to make which will come later on. I feel that I rather have something base to modify than something more rare and soon to be less common. I could never own a rare vehicle without actually using it.
