Did you have to modify the spindle at all? Or was it just bolt on? Did you buy from them direct or somewhere else? Also if you don't mind, what did you pay?

That looks sick! I have never seen the 6pot caliper on a thirdgen.
I also have the baer set up with the 2piece rotors, but my calipers are the 2pistons. That set up must have set you back several g's!
Nice work! What are your plans for the car?

I do not believe they modified the spindle, although Not positive about that. I am in Houston and the car is at Hawks in SC, these pictures got emailed to me late today. Hawks is doing a total restoration for me, so I get pictures emailed from time to time as parts come in and are installed. I do know baer makes a 6p kit for our cars now. I bought the brakes thru hawks.. the trac system which is cheaper than the 6p system I have was around 2900 for front and back, these were more than that...Just a drop in the bucket when compared to the whole project cost....I am freakin

Re: pics of baer brakes installed
when I get it back it will be a ls1 with the new 1900 magi (bruce is still working on the details), t-56, moser 9", boze rims, all the suspension crap, lowered, new paint, possibly a role cage (more for looks than function), interior redone
did I leave anything out???? I did get talked into the 6p kit over the less expensive trac system, glad you noticed...

Mr Iroc..
what kind of 1/4 mile times do you get with your superam set up?
I had afr heads, cam , 383, long tubes, superram and just managed a 12.65, the tranny was slipping, but 12.65 was the number. I always felt like that combo should have been faster...do you like your set up?

I have yet to test her! We are in the final stages of the paint job now.
It should be ready by summer. I did take it out for a spin some months ago and it is torque crazy. Your 12.65 is very respectable. I am just running the ZZ383 engine combo with the Lingenfelter cam for the Superram. The only weakness that I can see with this combo is that my headers do not trully match the d-port openings of the heads..so I think I am losing some HP there.

The 6 pot calipers look killer! They had just released those when I bought my set... wish I could have afforded that upgrade!

I totally beg to differ... What is the point really? I mean, go buy a new Corvette or 2010 Camaro or whatever you fancy which will likely out perform his formula in all aspects... I do all the work on my Camaros. It give a much more sense of accomplishment and something you can be proud of. Anyone (with means which kevin obviously has) can go out and "buy" an 89 formula or IROC built to the hilt, but can YOU build one??? Mr. IROC your car is very nice and I am assuing you did the work, much more impressive, not that kevin's isn't going to be impressive, but it just loses a little in my book. Sorry just my .

Bin there done that a couple of times with the same car. me and my brother did all the wrenching on this car back in 1992-93. Had a 383, NOS, heads, cam with arizona speed and marine runners. Pretty exotic for that time.
Thought about buying something new over the last two years. I just couldn't part with my first car (to many memories, first dates, prom, street racing etc etc) . I don't have to go out and wrench on something anymore to make memories with it. this car has been with me for 20 years.
I run a successful business and just built a new home in AUG 2008, and don't forget about the wife and kiddies. Some people just don't have the time to invest in something like a complete restoration project. And yes it would probably be way over my mechanical know how...
different strokes for different folks. besides do we really want to start debating the built or bought thing. where does that end? Can your rebuild your own engine? can you lay down a quality paint job, body work? Can you do your own chip burning? there are different levels to that debate.
The car is going to have around 500 RWHP, stop on a dime, and corner like a ****, all in the first car I ever owned, that **** is priceless. And I will have it in my hands in around 4 to 5 more months. I don't want to start a flame war here. that is why I posted this on the appearance and detail board.
Just wanted you to know where I am coming from..

I do understand where you are coming from and I was not by any means trying to start a flame war... just giving my opinion. I am sure you will have an amazing car just saying I go to car show after car show and when I see a truely amazing car I always ask how long it took them and 99 times out of 100 its some stuffed shirt suburbanite that says "oh I bought it like this" then rambles off something about how its one of this or one of that when I am already like ... oh whatever, someone else put in the blood sweat and tears and here is this guy reaping the benefits of a truely amazing car... but you are 100% correct different strokes I guess...
I do truely appriciate that it was your first car and you want it how you want it. Cars with stories are way more impressive and I am not lumping you into the previous statement...
Ok, rants over... lets see more pics of the car... the bottom looks nice, how about the rest?

Looks great, although those brakes aren't going to fit under 16" wheels - what will you be running wheel wise on this car?
Also - why did you go for 6 pot brakes on the rear - beyond overkill?

good question... 6p system was around 900.00 more than the trac system. just thought it be that much cooler, ya know latest and greatest
but yeah, other than that no logical reason.

I went with the Baer Tack system on all. i enjoy them, (you will too) much better than what was there originally (still had stock brakes) when i ordered mine i didn’t know the rear brakes were 1 piston, i would have upgraded, oh well.

Looks sick as hell to me! Can't wait till you get it back down here to Houston, I would like to see it in person at one of the car meets!
Are you going back to the stock color or are you going to paint it a custom color?

strc09 [QUOTE] Very nice. Bruce is a good guy and has done some very nice work. I'm sure your car will be just as hot as some of the other stuff I've seen from him. Good luck.
Yes, Bruce @ hawks has been awesome so far. He sends me pic's when parts come in. Calls me when something needs to be done that wasn't originally agreed apon. No complaints..Bruce really wanted to do a blown ls3 but the money was starting to get in the "WTF" range. only thing really undecided at this point is how far to go with the interior. He did a incredible roll cage in terry blanton's blue formula that I think I want to duplicate. pic attached
thanks for all the comments, I will keep the updated pics coming. Next big part coming is the 1900 series magnacharger. Going with the black finish. looking at getting the new black edlebrock coil covers. I think it will look sick with the black blower, black valve covers (coil covers) and stainless steel headers..

I've seen Terry's car in person and it's pretty freakin' hot. Im not sure if it's still there or not, but progress pics from start to finish on his car used to be on the Hawk's website. It's a very, very nice ride and it was a great article in HPP a few months back.

no pictures from here on out. Although I know what I am getting and I can pretty much picture it in my head, me and Bruce both agreed an unveiling would be pretty cool. So I will not be getting any more progress pics unless of course I want them. But I think to see it first in person when its complete will be special. attached is the last update pic I had.
they are going to get the car running soon and send the car to paint in the next month. then after paint interior will be done. and then Home to papa..
I will post pics when I take them..

Re: pics of baer brakes installed
thought about doing a stroker motor but from the money aspect of it you have to stop somewhere. so pretty much a stock bottom end with a bigger
cam, ported tb, ported maf, stock heads since its going to be forcing air..
long tubes, no cats.
later on down the road if I ever wanted to go faster or If I blow this thing up then I will put in a built stroker motor with some ported heads. wouldn't be the first time I blew a motor up, probably wont be the last either..I used to like the NOS back in the 90's.

The stock hood is going to fit, although they had to grind away a few close spots inderneath the hood.

NIIIIIIICE.... I almost sent my car to Bruce. Then I went from that to wanting to just order a swap package from him. Then I got a killer deal on a donor car so I went that route. Haha.
Its sweet seeing that Maggie under the hood. That looks really good. I want to go FI in the next year or two. Did he have to space the k-member down at all?
