It's tricky, six bolts under the lid behind the black plugs and the wire and boot for the brake light. Then slide forward and lift the plastic clips out of the metal brackets on the frame of the glass. The clips can break but usually the inserts of the rubber are rusted out. The best is the fiberglass replacement one. Do a search there should be some stuff on it. HTH.

Thanks Steve, UDAMAN! I have purchased and received a fiberglass replacement from North Country Fiberglass. I want to keep the original rubber one just in case of whatever and want to avoid frustrational ripping and tearing of otherwise decent parts.
