My Z28 1984

Hi guys!
First of all, yes I know my english sucks!
I'm a french Canadian, Quebec.
I love this site and check alot of thread and I will start by introducing myself and my camaro!

** I've made it in 4 sections for pictures!! Enjoy!

In 2009, I was 19, I bought my first camaro! '87 Iroc Z T-top with a L98/700R4. The paint was not perfect but for the first camaro it was perfect!

April 2010
I bought a '89 RS with a V6/automatic, it was my daily driver!

**I bought a 83 berlinetta for the black interior, does'nt last long and gone to scrapyard.

June 2010
I sold my IrocZ... I was sad but I wanted something so bad that I does'nt have any choices... The Iroc is now gone... So my 'New love' gonna enter my life!

re: My Z28 1984

Papers done, cash's given. My new '84 Z28 is now mine!
This camaro has been fully restore in 1992,
Originaly it was a gray z28 with a 305/T5.
The previous owner change color, 92 Z28 Body, 92 25th interior, new sound systeme, aggresive cam.
Except tires, I didnt change anything on the car in 2010.

October 2010
I sold my '89 RS
Winter is here again...
But I was sad... No more Fbody for a complete winter!
So I bought a 85' IrocZ, 305H.O./T5, with nicely winter tires!

It was really fun... until my Rochester said "Its Enought" and broke...

re: My Z28 1984

April 2011
Now I work in a Chevy dealer... My Z28 will not wake up this spring with 1 camaro buddy... but 2!

I bought my 2010 2LT!

2011 Summer is time for swapping Z28!
When I bought it in 2010 with the original 305 with 131051 km, the engine drink oil like an alcoholic... so I bought a brand new engine!
-350c.i. GMPerformance
GMperformance intake
670 Holley
and some new stuff like Chevrolet chrome dressing kit, radiator etc.

'85 IrocZ is now gone... Took some pictures before!

Winter is coming again...
Z28 and 2LT are gone sleeping!
**Funny thing, The robots in the picture are GMFactory Robot in the Boisbriand plant, building 4th gen Camaros and Firebirds! My dad Bought these a ridiculous prices years ago!

March 2012
I bought a house with my girlfriend... So the wake up is hard to do... I drove my 2010 a last time... to the dealer ship... I sold it back to my boss... :'(
But now, I have a house AND a garage! So my Z28 can stay to heat all year long!
March 2012 again* Me and my sister's boyfriend start a new project! '85 Z28 305/700R4 So I bought a Donor (white '87) and he bought the black Z28!
Here's some pic of this summer!

Why I love cars? My father's fault... Here's a pic of my Z28 with his babies, ' 07 CTS and his '69 GTO!

So here's my story! New projects are coming!
My mags are sold and C6 Z06 mags are coming! Pictures soon!

Hope you enjoy pictures and story!

I said its gone but I didn't gave alot of details, I sold it summer 2011, a friend of mine wanted it for part, 1 week and everything was gone, he gave me some parts like T5 and some interior! The T5 is in my garage today and wait to be restore, after it will go behind my 350!

Thx! No the robots was bought in 2002-03 to work in my dad's shop, but GM destroyed the program to run them... So it took 9 years to make them move! Last summer they find a program to move them, they need to work alot more to make them fully functionnable!

Yup it was clean! But the aftermarket sunroof leak, floor was gone too far to be repair, need 2 new panels, the rear frame was'nt good... The paint was "homemade" and the clear peel... It was a complete project! But my friend needed some parts and it was like 4 months waiting in my parents driveway so ... The only things I regret is the fact that I didn't kept the VIN...

Cars look fantastic, even the winter "beaters". What do they use on the road in the winter up there? Or are you just cherry picking the good ones?

Welcome aboard to thirdgen.org. You have/had some nice thirdgens. Also love the 69 GTO. One of my favorite cars. Cool your dad has robots that built the 4th gens. Do you know what the purpose of the robots were? Welding, painting, ect? Cant wait to see some updated and upcoming projects.

its a shame about that blue iroc. and 25 cars???? im the same age as you, but im only up to 9...then again i still have all of them lol. might have to get rid of some to upgrade a bit. iv been looking for a blue iroc for a while lately but theyr rare around here, or expensive or if im evenly lucky, they are junk.

Little update, my mags are now sold and I'm waiting the spacers!
Theses mags will be order soon!

I want this look!
Thx for Z28FAST1 for the picture!

But I don't know if I want 18'' rear and front OR 19'' rear and 18'' front...
I need to do a choice soon but I think I will go with the 18/18!

For the tires I thought about Falken FR453 245/40R18 front and 285/35R18 Rear!

go with a staggared set. 19's out back with 18's out front. It'll look great if it's lowered enough.

Welcome to TGO! Your first black/gold IROC looks alot like mine! There should be more camaro meetups in Quebec. 18's all around are better for our cars as well IMO.

For handling our cars usually like the same size tire front and rear. Why go narrower than you need to on the fronts?

Also the thread title is hilarious.

I agree, the suspension was tuned for the same width front/rear. Going to a wider rear tire, or a narrower front tire will increase understeer.

Course, if you are drag racing it, you want the lightest thing up front and handling is 2nd place.

But while I agree with InfernalVortex on this, its also owner preference.

Go for OEM rims if you can.

Replica rims are often heavier than the original GM wheels. Its why when I bought my ZR1 rims I only bought the GM ones.

Original rims... Hmmm I should check at my jobs! Hope they're not 3X the price of jobber rims!

Re: My Z28 1984

***Update***
Last week I painted my water pump, orange does'nt fit anymore with the new black crate engine! So here's a picture of my brand "new-painted" waterpump!

In same time... Get the 21 years old alternator removed so it's time to refresh it a lil bit!
After an afternoon to the shop it came back with new bearings.
But after 21 years it was a lil bit dirty ...

Needs 2 things! Green pad and TurtleWax "chrome polish"
