Pro-Touring , wide Tires

How many 3rd gens have stuffed 335 or 315 tires out back, not slicks , (inside quarter panels ). Great for Pro-Touring !!!

Re: Pro-Touring , wide Tires

Ive heard of people doing it but they usually have air shocks and they will always stick out past the wheel well. I had 275/60/15's on my rear end and it looked awful.Theyre street/strip tires and they stuck out a good 4-5 inches past the panel. and it rubbed with new suspension

I don't know if this guy is on this forum, but his user name on LS1tech is 'LS1-IROC'. His IROC has 18 x 9 wheels with 265-35-18 tires on the front, and 18 x 12 wheels with 335-30-18 tires on the rear. His wheels were custom made to look similar to the original IROC wheels. Also, his car's rear was mini tubbed to make the rear wheels fit properly.

Boys and girls... THIS is how a proper larger wheel and tire setup SHOULD be done!!!

Re: Pro-Touring , wide Tires

I tucked a 27.4" tall 305 series tire on my car with no issues other than beating the snot out of the inner front wheel well for clearance. 19x10 wheel. I believe 315's can fit same way. I have a set of 315/35/17 on my ls1 car that i wanted to mock up. They look good on the ls1 car, nice and wide

Re: Pro-Touring , wide Tires

These are 10.5" rims with a BFG Drag Radial. 4th gen rear axle and these rims were made for a 4th gen, probably 7.5" backspace give or take. My car has seen a BFH many times and I have sanded my bumbstops flush. They didnt rub but i used a 9/16" spacer just to be safe, I may be able to take them off. They sit almost flush with the fender lip, maybe stick out 1/4" with the spacers in.

A 10" wide rim with a Nitto Drag 315 is a great street setup, it's probably an inch or more narrower than my BFG 315 tires.

If anyone cares, the owner of the white Iroc is on this board: 406TPI. He's up for COTM nomination if you guys care to check it out/learn more about his awesome setup.
