Re: R.I.P. SKELITOR RS Camaro.
Lost complete traction coming around a soft corner. Did a 180 and went airborn on the driver's side and smashed into a tree right between the tire and the door (driver's side). I'm fine besides a little whiplash and loss of my DD (my only car). I must have hit a slick spot, because I have NEVER lost traction like that. I wasn't even going fast. Maybe 25mph. It was completely alien. I tryed to correct as I started to slide, but the tires just wouldn't get traction. The street was to slippery I guess, because I reacted to the slide exactly how i was supposed to and i couldn't recover. Now I have no way to get to my job, and I have no car. Def, Ruined my weekend. I have NO money to replace it.

I know you didnt sell it so im assuming its wrecked...
Hope you are okay bro. Whenever you feel up to it, post up some pics of the car afterwards so we can all see/hear what has happened.
Again, if its wrecked, i send my deepest apologies!
Edit: just read your post after i posted. Is it fixable?? Any frame damage and how hard did it hit?

Re: R.I.P. SKELITOR RS Camaro.
yeah I've done one of those 180s before too.
I got away with just clipping my driver side fender on somebodies lawn... I'm lucky that I didn't wrap it around a pole that day. There was even a point where I was skidding sideways after the 180... I thought the car was gunna roll but it stuck to the road the whole time.
anyway, freak accidents happen.
try not to be too hard on yourself.

Re: R.I.P. SKELITOR RS Camaro.
Haha. Dreams maybe. I've always been a SUPER DUPER cautious, courtious, and carefull driver, so this accedent was a total suprise. Especially As bad as it was. I found an 89 IROC 350TPI with every single thing I wanted to do to this car. He's asking 5k. Just wish I had some money saved up. I'm only 18 so I haven't had time to save up allot. He wants to sell soon, so I probably won't be able to part mine out/sell it before He sells it.
If I do get another thirdgen, I'm going to be even more-so cautious.

Oh HELL no. My eyes widened when I saw the title.
Glad you're okay, it could've swung around and hit the middle of the driver door and broken the your arm, ribs, etc. Medical bills on top of your current situation would suck.
Hope to see you get back up on your feet and hope to see you find another 3rd gen.

EDIT: She lasted 20 years? Wow, you had her a long while. Yet and still, that makes it even harder to let go.

I only had the pleasure of owning the beast for a year and a half. Only had it in good driving condition for the past 6 months.

Re: R.I.P. SKELITOR RS Camaro.
I know. I have NO Idea how that's possible at those speeds. I never felt it do that, but that is the only way I can figure the car jumped the curb completely sideways without doing ANY dammage to the tires or rims. Might have been 30, but I figured I lost speed when I started sliding. I know for a fact I couldn't have been going faster than that. I was only 1/2 to 2/3s the way through first gear which ends at 40, and with the wheel spin and cornering it's hard to figure I was going any faster than 27

Re: R.I.P. SKELITOR RS Camaro.
wow that was a good wreck. but why the hell did it just kick out on you like that??? I've never heard of anything like that happening while doing the speed limit. the reason the limits are so low is so this stuff doesn't happen. were your tires junk?
i don't mean to sound like a dick but if you can find that it was a parts failure or something you might possibly be able to get some kind of compensation

It's been ruff. It's like loosing a child. I mean, for me anyway. I have a feeling loosing a child might be a little more traumatic haha. I'm alright and that's what matters.

Re: R.I.P. SKELITOR RS Camaro.
It almost hurts to look at the wreck. Like others have said, a least you or no one else got hurt. Another good thing, looks like a lot of parts on the car can be salvaged. You can either use them to fix up another 3rd gen or sell them and put the money toward some other car.

Man that sucks! Glad you are alright! Its a testament to the strength of these cars. My first 3rd gen got t-boned in an intersection and I was uninjured and was able to drive the car home (the Camry that hit me was totalled) though I had to hold the door closed the whole way!

Sorry to hear about your loss. That sux man. I was hoping to get down that way when I get my car on the road. I really wanted to see ur Skelitor in person. @I saw an add in Austin CL for a 3rd gen camaro. Dude wanted $550 down n some kind of payment plan. I'll try to find the add n try to post a link.
Keep ur head up dude! Glad ur ok :-)
