Calling all thirdgen Camaro owner. July 2012 Camaro Performers Magazine is MUST READ!
Hay fellow thirdgeners! The Newest Camaro Performers magazine issue (July 2012), is geared toward the thirdgen crowd! They are specifically reaching out to the thirdgen crowd this time around (see attatched photos), and they want to see some really nice thirdgens. They've gotten some great responses, and this time around they have not one, but two thirdgens as main articles, and there are more thirdgens on the cover than any other generation (the last thirdgen that graced the cover a CP mag was over a year ago)! If they get good enough feedback on this thirdgen/subscribers rides issue, they will include more in the coming months. I highly suggest you guys go purchase this magazine and leave some positive feedback with them. They want to see some nice thirdgens, and it's up to us to show them what we can do.

AWESOME!!! I've been a subscriber for about 3 years now. I can't wait til my mag arrives. That one above on the cover looks killer. I definitely will reply with some feedback.

It's a beautiful car with a cool story behind it (and a 383 stroker in front). But they also mod an IROC with an aftermarket suspension to see how it would handle. It easily out performes a brand new SS Camaro in the slalom (it did have a crate engine as well, but still impressive).

awesome. I can't wait to get this months issue. I am heading to the GM Nationls this weekend and will renew my subscription at the show! Finally some third gens. I agree. We should send them some good feedback. They are always asking for more third gens, but say no one ever sends in anything about them. As many nice ones as are on this site I am surprised that they dont get more submissions.

The editor told me that they are shooting some more thirdgens right now. Hopefully we'll see some really nice ones in the coming months.

Great publicity for our cars! Wish I had a subscription.
They sure need it, good publicity. I've seen 3 Camaros in pop culture in the last month and they haven't exactly been in prestigious roles...

I counted at least 4 thirdgens in the readers rides section. One was a 92 RS, and another was an Iroc pushing 600hp.

The more they make the magazines the more popular they will become. It would be nice for a publication to feature a rare model in stock form so people can understand how great of a car the third gen really was.

A Stock 92 Z28 350 Auto (with the 3:42 posi rear) was faster in the 1/4 mile than the famed 5.0 LX mustang, and it had a top speed of 148mph , which is faster than the famed Ferrari 308 GTS, And with a new exhaust sytem, or chip, or custom cold air intake it could reach speeds in excess of 150mph easy. And no one can argue with the beauty of a blue 87 IROC.

In the Firing Back section of CPM the editor says they got an unexpected response to the collosal number of 3rd genners that e-mailed in as to why our cars are slighted in the magazine. And most of them were negative! Imagine that.
But one reader is correct in a way with his take on why 3rd gens are pushed aside. Many owners are still living likes it 1987 out there with crazy 1980s mods like, uh oh, back hatch louvers. We've seen all sorts of crazy looking 3rd gens here that are not magazine worthy. We need to see some 3rd gens that are modified not hacked up with modifications that feature current trends and performance oriented hop up parts.

Actually he's the spearhead of getting more thirdgens integrated into the magazine. He's really enthusiastic about getting some really nice ones in the magazine soon. Firing him would just mean starting all over with another editor. Perhaps one that doesn't listen to readers opinions.

Re: Calling all thirdgen Camaro owner. July 2012 Camaro Performers Magazine is MUST R
the thirdgen that is featured is a nice car, but is it really centerfold worthy? i think they just found one that was close by. nick licata is trying to play it cool now. there are a lot of nice thirdgens out there. there are tons on this forum. nick's crew doesn't seek after these cars.
try getting an 80 year old man to sit back and listen to some pink floyd. he isnt going to enjoy it probably at all because he has turned his brain off and he likes his oldies. he doesnt even want to try to listen to it. he is not gonna advertise stuff that he isnt all that interested in either. then the guy who tried getting the old man to listen to pink floyd doesnt understand why in this world he dont like it and isnt trying to get everyone else to listen to it.
nick licata is the old man. thirdgen'rs are the young guy. when you put on your editor shoes, you need to be unbiased and give the people who fund your cause what they want.
that sounds stupid, but that is how i see it. i had to type fast cuz my lil girl is getting up from her nap and she is about to wreck the house.

Don`t forget that it`s Nick who allows those letters to be printed. I truly believe he wants thirdgens in the mag.
But he wants magazine worthy examples.

That's my baby on the front cover. I have yet to see the magazine since I live here in Cali. Can't wait to read it. I truly believe that my ride is worthy of the cover that it's on. Also, it's only gonna get better and classier and faster and stronger as time passes and as I invest more into it. Nick Licata is a cool guy. If you have a nice 3rd gen, then get a hold of him.

Hay man. Was wondering if you were on the forums. The magazine is great, and he did a great job with your article. Love the ride by the way. I really like the color you chose when you repainted the car.
