Barn find!
I know how much you guys like barn finds so I thought I'd share the one I just found!
About 10 miles from me there's a green 4th gen Camaro that I decided to try and buy for my girlfriend. I stopped by and asked about it and they told me they didn't want to sell it but had an older model up in a bard about half a mile away. I was expecting a pile of junk but this is what I found:
So I bought it for $400. The interior and exterior are both spotless. The dash pad isn't cracked and there's only 1 small tear in the drivers seat. It has a 2.8 right now but has a spun main bearing so that'll be coming out and a small block will be swapped in. The hood is also laying on the ground beside it. What do you guys think?

Re: Barn find!
Nope not doing a V6 lol besides it's been sitting for almost a decade so I'm sure the in tank pump is froze up so a V8 would be easier with the mechanical pump.

Yep I have the title. It was last signed in 96 and had 44,000 miles on it's last signing. At first I thought it had 148,000 but after seeing the title 48,000 would make more sense.

Re: Barn find!
Its still sitting outside their barn I'm gonna go get it and take it to the car wash after work today. The interior is in great shape it just needs swept and a ton of febreeze lol. And the car isn't staying original. I don't care much for the 2.8.

Thanks guys. I'm thinking a 5.3 swap maybe. I still haven't been able to tow it home yet. Our wrecker driver ran our wrecker into a tree.

Re: Barn find!
Yeah, I know they can be but I don't have the money to build a V6 to be anything near fast lol. I have a 305 and a 700r4 out of my old trans am in my garage so I'll end up going with that, I'm sure. I'm trying to buy a house (with a garage ) at the moment so this will end up being a slow project I'd say. I might just clean the 305 up throw my 906 vortecs on it and do some clean up with the wiring and drive it like that. I promise I won't hack it up and I'll try and make the job look professional

Re: Barn find!
Ouch! No it wasn't quite that bad just had to replace the entire front end. It was finished Friday but he told me he had "stuff to do" and said to call Saturday. 3 calls and 6 texts later still no word whatsoever. I'll give him tomorrow, and after that I'll be calling the rival towing company in town. Youd think that I could get a tow since I fix their computers out of my pocket, and especially since I'm still paying for the tow.

First off know that I like you guys alot. I washed this by hand, with no water hose. I had to fill up the buckets in the pictures then roll them down the driveway with a 2 wheel dolly lol.

Re: Barn find!
The motor is definitely toast. I have a known good 3.4L out back that I MAY swap in. The only thing keeping me from it is the transmission. I don't know if it's good, bad, or just ugly. I have everything I need for a V8 swap, though. GREAT 305 motor, butter shifting 700R4 trans, in tank sending unit, full exhaust, I even still have the rear end...decisions, decisions. I also don't know if any of these RPO codes mean any good options or not.

Thanks for washing her, man. She looks MUCH better!
Also, that paint job looks fairly new. Real pretty for a dusty hunk found in a barn.

Thanks! I'm prettysure that's the original paint. It's been stored for forever but it could be a respray. I honestly was gonna sell it but I know I'll never find another car like this again so...
