My 88 project..

Hi,
my name is mike and I'm a noob owner of a 3thgen camaro, woot woot.
lol any ways long story short, I was looking for a car (older car) and a friend
told me about a camaro a friend was selling. so I went and fell in love with
the car and the lines are sweet so I bought the car for $1200. It's a 88rs camaro
with a 90-91 3.1 liter engine (not sure cuz that's what the guy told me anyways.

so after 2 weeks of driving it and finding out the Starter, Alternator, and bat
was a fail.. therefor I bought all new ones at Autozone. then after replacing
the parts it didn't want to turn over so. I called the guy that sold me the car,
he came and then messed with the Fuse box and it turn on.. not noticing
whatever he did, I was ok it turns on yay. so gave him some money for the help.
1h later he left I notice the inner door lights didn't turn off... so I unplugged the
bulbs and left it as is. So then later I picked up a friend in it from work that
was about 30mins away. when get to her place (pop noise happen) so I popped
the hood and all this steam came out. Notice the reservoir for the coolant cap
was gone?. then i turned the keep to see if the fan turned on.. and nope it didn't..
soo I called the guy and he wanted to charge me more.. to come and fix that..
so i was like naw that's ok and had a friend help me ghetto tow the car back
to my house. (what fun that was) lol.

So now I just decided to Rebuild the car completely over time.
(yay no more insurance on it lol..)
**Grabs some PB blaster wrenches and tears away at my car**

so here she be..

so here some stuff I toke out and things I got basically free.. when i bought my wiring(for $250)

Now all im waiting on is to find a cheap engine hoist lol :P and stand..
(or if anyone in houston can help me take the engine out that would be awesome...)

ps.. this will be the first time i ever do anything to a car.. lol other then changing
oil tire and basic stuff. yay i love learning..

why waste the time with a 350 swap? did you not read the thread made on turbocharging the stock V6 motor? much cheaper then a 350 swap, better numbers and better gas millage.

Errm but I have been reading up on that turbo-ing the v6 also reading on the hybrid build too so not sure, becuz I did find a 3.4l for $400 and local junkyard.. but not sure if I want to buy another engine becuz I wouldnt know what to do with this 3.1l.. heh plus the 3.1l ran great before all the electrical stuff when crazy..

Re: My 88 project..

So today I decided to see if the dual fan works.. and sure enough they did
woot. They are kinda nasty looking with that in mind grabbed my drill
and brush and got to work on one.

one thing I notice from the start is that the bottom thing that holds the
fans well one of the things that hold it is busted. So start to call around
today and none the junkyards have a camaro.. what other car has this
piece where i can take and use?

(left one is the one is I started to clean ofc.)
another thing is that I notice is that these things were two different
motors?? I don't know how to tell what motor is what.

Also Where could I find a Premade Dual Fan harness?
