I kinda like the grill, I think it makes the color of the paint "pop".
As for the gauges those from an earlier style maro, the gauge face looks to have been made by him so that he could fit his circular style gauges in it.

exactly what i was looking for. I have yet to find a good digtal gauge setup for the 91-92 style gauges so I just decided to do my own. It was either this or autometer phantoms

Re: My 92 Z28 build write up (finally)
The color is GM Atomic Orange. I searched for the right orange for a good year and then I saw my buddys dads 57 chevy painted this color and I immedialy fell in love. The original paint scheme was going to be two tone but in that year of searching and photoshopping I grew sick of it

Re: My 92 Z28 build write up (finally)
Picked the speedo up at a garage sale and just went from there. Got the others off ebay for cheap, couldnt pass it up. Plus something about the round red digital gauges gives it a certain aggressive look to it I believe.

Re: My 92 Z28 build write up (finally)
I watched the vid knowing what happens as I've had it happen to me lol...nothing queezy about it though, doctor covers it all up. Those are some pretty sweet scars dude, staples always look pretty.
I agree with Matt on the gauge panel, it's pretty rough. Personally, I like the brushed aluminum or stainless dash panels.

Haha my chest tube holes opened up again a few weeks later and u could see down in my side. I probably should have left my bandage on a bit longer but what can I say the girls that came over wanted to see it. lol
Im actaully getting a cross tatooed on my back and the guy doin the tat is the Physicians Assistant to my surgeon and actually did some work on me, its a small world. Im going to have him fade down to wear my scar is so that the scar doesnt get covered up and kinda comes into the cross.
I got God-Family-Country tatooed across my shoulders a few weeks ago and the cross that Im getting on my back is going to have a mural in it that represents GOD FAMILY COUNTRY by having things like the twin towers/ the boots with the rifle, helmet, and dog tags/hands praying or touch of god/guardian angels/probably the initials of my parents and brother. A lot of little things like that. Chicks are diggin the scars and tat lol
I was thinking about doing a diamond plate back on the gauges but i think it would just stand out too much, it doesnt really tie into anything.

Re: My 92 Z28 build write up (finally)
I have never seen a 90-92 style gauges from cyberdyne. And the only 82-89 camaro specific digitals i have seen from them have been the circuit board with tinted plastic rather then individuial round gauges.

Re: My 92 Z28 build write up (finally)
and make far superior gauges than cyberdyne.
i've had both, so i'm not just making false statements based on no experience.
get the empty covans panel and put your current gauges in it, it'll look 10x's better then anything you can produce, and an empty panel is only like $130 or something.

Re: My 92 Z28 build write up (finally)
And thats $130 that I could spend on something else. Ill get another bezel and try a dif route before I spend $130. It takes the fun out of building something yourself. Just like the center console that Im in the works of redesigning. I already made a complete center console out of fiberglass from scratch, didnt like how it turned out so I tossed it and decided to use a dif process. If I end up failing a couple more times on this cluster then maybe after I get my interior reupholsterd and get a headliner I might consider buying one.

Re: My 92 Z28 build write up (finally)
I have a long ways to go with this car, if the gauges work good and the setup looks clean then Ill put it off. The way the cluster was last time I agree it needed a lot of work, but Im redoin it and Im about finished with it already. Tomorrow if I have time inbetween gettin my new military ID and packing Ill finish it, if not it will have to wait for a couple of weeks because I head back up to school friday around noon

Re: My 92 Z28 build write up (finally)
Got the gauge cluster redone and primered. Need another coat of primer and then sand and paint.
I also sanded off all the VHT Nightshade on my taillights, for legal purposes, and now I need to wet sand and buff em.
It maybe awhile before I get to do anything else to the car, I just got back up to St. Joseph last night and the car had to stay home

I picked up these '91-92 style Nordskog Digital gauges from a local guy that wrecked his '91z for $50. I just thought I'd share since there's a lot of talk here about digital gauges.

Here is a short vid of the car with the new exhaust before the tune.

Decided to work out some kinks before I brought the car up with me to school. Still need to get the speedometer workin and need to install weatherstripping and locks. Half the car is wetsanded too

Or he can sell whatever he wants to and keep whatever makes him happier. I'm sure that someone would love to have his car as a project and he can keep his bike.

Re: My 92 Z28 build write up (finally)
Well I decided Ive got waaay to much invested in my car and decided to sell the bike. lol I wasnt able to get the loan for the truck I wanted because the truck was a 97 and the car is a 92 so couldnt use them as collatoral =( Supposed to be having a family friend drop the car off at the house today and my old boss is going to set the timing for me. Anyone know anybody that wants to swap out some Knockoff Flowmaster 10series for some 40s? These 10s are LOUD! and because Im puttin train horns under the car I dont need anymore reason to get in trouble and this exhaust will do it

Re: My 92 Z28 build write up (finally)
Well long story short, I didn't sell either the bike or the car! I did buy myself a 97 dodge ram 2500 Cummins 5spd though. And she's been gettin all my money at the moment. But I'll get the bike back up and running and hopefully get the Camaro from my parents house so I can tear into that again. Now that I have another vehicle I will be turning the Camaro into a drag car, so I've got some work to do.
