Check out what $300 just got me...and don't shoot me. lol
Found this listed in my local craigslist listed for $300 and about fell outta my chair. 1991 Z/28 Roller. 350 TPI car originally. So, I have a new project and will be looking for a wrecked 350tpi car to swap driveline into this car.
The Good: Perfect Dash, Console, DoorPanels, Full Power Options including Power Leather Seats. Orig. Cd player. New Door locks, Extra Borg Warner Disk Rear, New 3" Flowmaster muffler w' chrome tips, extra Flo Pro Exhaust. 4 boxes of misc. parts. All glass good w/ tinted windows.
The Bad: Drivers door and Hood replaced from anothe car. Rest of body is excellent, even the foglights are excellent. Missing Headliner, carpet used to be red, but dyed (poorly) black. Some mismatched interior plastics. Leather seats worn. Engine, Tranny, Computer, and Wiring Harness gone. Needs paint and a different drivers door. This one's got mud in it + it's not lined up well.
For $300, this car is a steal. Got a clear Title with it too.
Lot's of pics coming

I already have 3 red cars, so I think I'll go with my favorite camaro color and change it to Arctic White, maybe two tone it black and white.

looks like a good eal for 300, is there any rust/rot on the underside?

Thanks for the info and just checked title and the 8th digit is an 8, so it IS a 350 TPI car. Nice!! The car is completely rust free. There's a little bit where the battery goes, but that is it.

It's a good buy. When I look for my next project I'm hoping the motor is gone, so that way I can build a nice small block for it. It will save me from pulling the original motor out of it. Keep us posted.

I wouldn't mind just dropping a old school 350 in it, but this car still has to pass emissions here for 5 more years.

Anyone know how to open the hatch on these cars when the lock is missing and there is no power to pop the hatch?Old school would be a screwdriver, but I don't see anything in the hole that would pop the lock. Some of the bigger parts that came with it. Borg Warner Disk Brake Rear...Has new calipers in box, but needs some work to be useful. Driveshaft and misc. interior parts
This is the Flow Pro and Flowmaster (new) exhaust that came with it.

Thanks guys. Got a wiring harness and ECM this morning. Also found the centercaps inside the hatch area. This is gonna be a long slow build, at least a year. When it's done it's gonna be nice. I used to have a 91Z 350 car, back in '94. It was white, and is still my favorite car I've ever owned. That's saying alot since I've had 10 camaro's and about 15 other cars and trucks.

Wow, someone destroyed a once very nice car! It even has the factory CD player and 145mph cluster!
That was definately a hell of a steal on that. Perfect candidate for a LS1 swap!

for 300 dollars... I think you got a hell of a bargain... the speedo alone if it's working, I think get's you at least a third of that since they're getting harder to find... of course I've just been reading, so don't know first hand numbers... looks clean though...

Thanks again everyone for the positive replies. I wish I knew someone who did body and paint that that would hook me up. I'm pretty sure I'm gonna do a color change to Arctic white, which will be a lot of work. I just don't have the equipment or knowhow to do the jams and doghouse myself, or I would. I can take them apart and put them back together, redo interior, install drivetrain, but never learned body/paint. I wan't this one to look sick!

That's a pretty good deal. At least your drivetrain is there. This one's got something funky with the driver's door. It's been replaced and doesn't match the fender line at all. I have no idea how to adust it.

Few pics from today, no big deal.
Spent about 10 mins adjusting the fender to hood gap on the drivers side that looked bad. It's not perfect, but much better.
Put the center caps on the wheels that I found in the hatch area.
Better pic of the gauges.
Previous owner painted the rear wheels gunmetal gray. Looks pretty good.
Just throwing this one in there because I love this angle with the rear spoiler

LOL, really? I figured there'd be several local people on this board that might have wanted it. I was afraid that it would be gone before I got there. Just dumb luck I think. To be honest, my initial thought was to buy it, put the 91Z nose, ground effects, hood, and rear spoiler on my '84 and sell the rest. I realized that I just couldn't do it once I saw it. There's too much potential and it's not too far gone to bring it back. (especially being a 350TPI car). I'm really looking foreward to get started on it.

Jamie,
I would be glad to help with what I could on the paint job. I am not a pro for sure. I do think you would may need to take it back down to metal, if the primer is over a year old. Would also depend on whats under the primer.
Good deal on the car. Did you see the one in North GA listed for $500?

Man... that is a killer deal.
Someone did some body work to it...which means less work for you to whip it into shape.
Also, that motor and trans being gone leaves you with a blank slate. An LS swap really isnt THAT bad. Especially since the car for all intents and purposes cost you nothing. Heck...sell that CD player and you basically got yourself a free nice roller.
Can def understand wanting to keep the rare factory radio with the car...but getting your money back plus some just for selling the radio has GOT to be mighty tempting.
Good luck with it and keep us posted on your progress!
Justin

I've got a decent headliner for a hardtop I'm selling for $50 it will need to be recovered. I'm going to be in Atlanta over memorial weekend and could bring it with me if you bought it.

Justin.
Your car has the perfect combo for what I would want. I'd love to do it. I was talking to a friend at work today and one of his friends had a good running LT1 w/ 6speed, wiring and computer. He thinks he only wants $500 for everything. I'll find out for sure tomorrow. That's a sweet deal. Might let go of that radio to fund the drivetrain.
BlueZee28...You coming down to the F-Body Gathering? I'll be there. I've been going to that show since the late 80's when it was called the Camaro Street Nationals. That headliner that your selling ABS plastic or cardboard? I don't mind recovering it. I was thinking of doing one in black suede anyway.
CaliChevyLover. As soon as I can better assess what rear in the car, which is not a disk brake rear and what condition the original disk rear is in (that's out of the car), I'll be selling one of them.
Anyone want to buy that Flo Pro exhaust? His son said it was really loud.

The headliner is the stock cardboard. It's in decent shape, has some cracks in the board but can be repaired with adhesive, it's all there though. The interior side of it doesn't look bad even though the board is cracked if that means anything.
And yes, I'll be at the Fbody Gathering, I'm trailering my convertible. So I will see you there, what car will you be bringing?

Hey man I don't know if you know it but the dash emblem looks like it says Z25. If this is correct you should just push that car out by the road and put a great big free sign on it. Becuase that is where I will be waiting for it! Just kidding, good deal on a good car!
