Looks nice! I'm not a fan of the hockey strips though. But that's just me. Other than that looks great!
Why do so many people hate those wheels! I love them. They are simple, and can be painted any way you want. Don't get rid of them...although it is YOUR car. just my

Re: Finally Painted!
I'm definitely the biggest fan in the world of the hockey stripes.
Your car looks awesome.
When i saw your cowl i went and looked at your engine.
Wowzers. Great Car.
I agree with you, those wheels are ugly.
I have them on my rs too.
I dont wanna junk em, i just dont know.
But great job.

Re: Finally Painted!
Thanks for the kind words everyone…and as far as the wheels go – it’s not that I dislike them or anything like that, it’s just that I really NEED some more rubber in the rear of the car. Even though the tires on it are practically new, they’re crap for traction.
I know some like the hockey stripes – others don’t but that’s OK. I personally didn’t want the same two stripes down the hood look. The “Supercharger” and “408” are both hand painted on – no stencils or decals. BTW - I also have a set of the older 3 piece metal rear window louvers I’ll be putting on too once they’re painted satin black.
I’ve been looking at getting a set of Centerline Convo Pro or Fuel wheels for it. 15” x 8 ½” 50 series in the rear, and 15” x 4” 60’s in the front. Then I’ll mount up some P275’s in the rear and P-135’s up front to get a street/strip look.

Re: Finally Painted!
Nice job on the colour, looks great with the Hockey & Hood Stripes but you need to widen them a bit or just get some pin striping around them, the stripe on the hood looks a little too low from the top but all in all you know how I feel about the paint scheme
For wheels I say go with a nice polished or chrome set, black will make the car look too dark...but then agaim it's your baby...do what you want and don't worry about what some peeps think!

It's actually dupont pepper metallic gray - the same color as "Eleanor" in the movie "Gone in Sixty Seconds"...it does have a lot of metal flake in it. I dunno. I might widen the stripes a little, but I kinda like it as is. I want to get the rear louvers painting finshed and get those on there and see if it makes any diff in how it looks.
It's gonna be tricky pulling the engine and not scratching this paint...but I gotta do it. At least I can get the engine bay cleaner and more detailed while I'm at it.

Looks great! Normally I'm not a big fan of the Hockey Stripe but it looks very nice with the Hood - really sets it off!
What are you planning on doing with the wheels? New ones? Repaint the ones you have? And if you don't mind my asking - how much did the job set you back?

Re: Finally Painted!
Update:
Well, engine is out and apart. Problem was a broken connecting rod. Pretty much broke in half on #1 cylinder. Cause really unknown - I suspect it was defective and just gave up.
I have all the parts to put the engine together again. Well - except for a new camshaft...
I just got the replacement rod and piston back from the machine shop where I had them balanced to match the rest of the rotating assembly.
So - assemble engine, clean up engine bay, drop engine in and get it running again, clean up and reinstall door panels, new ABS headliner, triple A pillar gage pod and gages, pick up rear louvers from body shop and install, then I'm down to wheels/rims.
Still undecided whether I'll paint these stockers up till I wear out the tires, or just bite the bullet and get the Convo pros with new tires.
Should be on the road soon hopefully. I'd like to make Thirdgenfest for the first time ever. We'll see though!!
