My 88 Camaro Sports Coupe
heres my 88, it was my first car, got it 8 years ago when i was 15 and have been learning on it ever since. it was originaly TBI, then i went TPI and last summer i went to a carb'd set up, and it finally runs good lol. i did 92 gfx and taillights, smoked the tails, full exhaust, 4th gen leather, full stereo, Z06 rims, lowering springs, and loads more....

I like it man, I love those hockey stripes on thirdgen camaros! only thing I'd do differently is put on straight tips for the exhaust, IMO thirdgens can't pull off 4 tips.

Re: My 88 Camaro Sports Coupe
I like the style of this car. I really do. I like how you blacked out your lights ( if you did it yourself ) and left the reverse light white. We did that on my friend's car, and i've wanted to see how it would look on a camaro. And it looks very nice, i may just do the same =).
Love the car though man

Re: My 88 Camaro Sports Coupe
why'd you ditch the 88 sports coupe spoiler, its a more original spoiler than the one you've got on now,
and it would have kept it original,
also love the hood, hate the louvres (i always though they looked bad)
and is that a sunroof i see or am i seeing things

Re: My 88 Camaro Sports Coupe
lol wow thanks guys... lets see if i can answer some questions here
im soso on the exhaust tips... but the shop welded them on after the did my fuel pump for some reason....
i did the taillights myself and they came out awesome
the spoiler is original to this car... dont ask me how or why the sports coupe spoiler isnt on it... ive had the whole damn thing apart and cant find any evidance of that spoiler ever being on here... weird... and obviously i didnt stick to anything "original" to the car
where does my rear bumper say Camaro??... the previous owner bought all brand new IROC-Z badges and i wasnt about to buy another correct set... hell they were expensive 8 years ago lol
the stripes are off... i couldnt find anyone with a set for 3rd gens and didnt wanna spent the money on a custom set if they didnt look good, so as a trial i worked the best i could a set cut for a 4th gen... im debating wat to do, there good enough for now
the car had louvers originaly... u could see the marks on the glass from where they sat, a guy localy was selling an original set CHEAP so i had to do it lol
k think i got all of em....

Re: My 88 Camaro Sports Coupe
This car definitely sticks out, for some reason it even rocks the rear louver quite well, in which I am also a hater of the rear louver, but on yours it works.
Also, car definitely could be lowered more, or bigger wheels, or bigger tires, something with those is not looking right to me, which doesn't matter much.
Um, yeah the first picture looks beastly (aka good)

So what did you use to do your own tail lights? Night shade? Or what? B/c it looks really good on your camaro.

Re: My 88 Camaro Sports Coupe
my bad on the badges, i agree they are stupidly expensive,
anyway it really does look awesome, its what i wish my 88 sc looked like,
and even though i've always hated the louvres, they look good with everything else on the car,
thats what the spoiler should look like, aas opposed to making it look like an iroc

i personally prefer the lowrise spoiler, you see them a bit less, a bit more unique to the year i guess,
either way it looks good,

Maro man I did not know your car looked that damn good brotha
I love the hood(I have it on my car too ) I personally dont like louvers but they look ok on your ride, wheels are on point cut the tips off (they look good with em on but better without i think) im copying your hockey stripes when I paint my car.
Got any interior pics?

Re: My 88 Camaro Sports Coupe
i have an 88 sc as well, and i honestly think i like the low rise wing more than the short spoiler. if i ever got rid of the wing it would be for the 5 inch spoiler. but then again i like the spoiler because even though there were like 60K sc camaros made in 1988, its the only year and the only model with that spoiler which in my mind makes it somewhat unique. camaro looks great, what style of louvers are those? im lookin for some and i like the way those look. some of them just stick up to much, i like the way yours is kind of.. shorter? lower? idk it just looks good. any brand name on them??

Your hockey stripes are awesome. I can't get over them when I look at your pictures, you HAVE TO HAVE the BEST damn hockey stripes on TGO.
You take care of that TA. Which will be my next car (02 WS6 White with red accents)

Yeah, I see them. If I could figure out how to use ebay in like 28 hours I might buy them. One quick question though, could I find them cheaper? And how hard are they to find?

thats the factory spoiler, i guess they came on the car in 88? but im having a problem with my car it smokes blue at start up and i need to know how much it is to have a set of vortec heads redone

Re: My 88 Camaro Sports Coupe
The 88 sports coupe originally came with the spoiler that's on it, the factory changed to the higher rise style spoilers later in the production year. His car could have been made before the switch. That is the case with my 88.

just the opposite, they started 88 with the medium rise and midway thru they went to the 3 piece
