I am aware that most people in this forum are against anything bigger than 18" but everyone has a different taste and i decided to go with 20" irocs so im just posting pics for anyone that was curius to see what it would look like. I have no rub the car is heavier but still burns out with no problems there really isint any dramatic ride change. Let me know what you think.

That's a very nice car and those are some very nice rims...but...

I think they detract from the beauty of the vehicle. When you look at the car your eyes are immediately drawn to the rims because they are so big. I can't even imagine 22's. I didn't think they would even fit on these cars...

Not hatin just statin. Just one opinion...

Thanks, true the rims do call attention. I am glad that i didnt go with 22" irocs since i know that they rub a lot on the wheel wells. But down here in cali i have seen many thirdgens with 22" rims the one other thing that discourged me from getting the 22" rims was that the car would be lifted more than what i would be okay with.

Doesnt look too bad at all, but definately a tad large. I'm thinking a 18 inch wheel would have been best, or even 18 in front, 20 in rear. Might be ok looking then

I like em i to have 20s on my car and i think it looks right i was even able to lower mine and it still doesnt rub these cars have alot of room in the wells and people sometimes dont realize that car looks nice.

i think it looks nice man... all i would do now is lower it a bit... being your not doing 1/4 mile with the car id lower it to the ground...lol other then that man it looks sweet... i want to get the same set of rims for my 85 iroc-z ounce i have it painted...

Rotational weight and safety are my biggest concerns. Not added overall weight of the car, less ride quality, the cost of tires for bigger wheels, less handling, less acceleration, or other negatives of going with bigger rims.

The more rotational weight, the more slower you stop. The most important (or possibly only) technical reason to have bigger rims is to be able to put in larger brakes. For 20s, I would think Corvette C6 ZO6 14" front brakes would almost be required.

To sacrifice all that performance for a contemporary "look" makes a car extremely ugly to me. 20 yrs. from now it'll be a laughing stock, like ******s or bell-bottoms....

Right cause we don't have enough people on here with 305TBIs asking what the biggest tire they can fit on a 15" rim? How many ragged out third gens do you see with giant rear tires that don't do a DAMN thing but hurt overall performance? Come on now so many people on this site do stuff for a "look" and not a performance aspect and so be it. Let him do what he wants with his car. You have already stated you opinion so leave it at that.

MY opinion is it still a really clean iroc. 20s do look a tad large, but everything nowadays has at least 18s on it, hell my dads new avalanche came with 20s and they look "small". I think overall that is a beautiful iroc and definitely doesn't look bad with them.

I think its the angle of your driveway that makes the front look lifted, I think if you posted a pic with the car faced down the driveway with the tires turned to the side it would be a money shot.

I agree somewhat i am sacraficing performance but this car has been set up to be a daily driver not a track car. Dont really think that having big rims is a trend anymore as more and more cars are beggining to carry 20" and even 22" rims as there stock rims.

Having excessively big rims on a small tire is a trend that isn't going to carry over to many production cars. I'm talking about the rim to tire ratio. Your not going to see 20" rims on a new V8 car that has 26" tall tires like a thirdgen other than the exception of something like the Corvette C6. Even the 2009 Corvette C6 ZR1 only has 19" rims on the front(with 20s on the back). But the new ZR1 is very light, has amazing suspension(and amazing everything else), and has 15" brakes.

The new Dodge Challenger SRT-8 is going to have 20" rims but its going to be on a tire that is about 28.5" tall. And the Challenger SRT8 is basically a 2 door Charger weighing in at 4100 pounds. The same thing for trucks that come stock with 20s, they have a taller tire which is why they can easily go with a 20" rim.

I think that they look good, but not my cup of tea. One reason why not is because there is barely any sidewall on those tires, and that is a no go for me dd or spirited driving wise. Another reason I don't like rims that big is because of how much they raise the car up. I like my car to have a lower center of gravity, like a vette, and bolting on 20inch rims would not help that in any way. Again, I'm not bashing, I'm just stating my opinion. I plan to either put a staggered 18/19s on my firebird, but I am more than happy with the 17s on my iroc.

If they werent chrome they probably look good. It would probably look good with some gunmetal color paint, but i know they dont have them wheels in painted colors.

I'm not a big fan of big wheels. To me it makes the car look like a hot wheels car. Although your car is very nice but I'm with everyone here and say no bigger than 18's.

Personnely I wouldn't go that big of a rim but it's your car and do it the way you want it, I agree with Sickness91Z28 drop some sportlines on it and it will look good, don't worry about all the negative responses from some of the guy's here...I'm sure that you wouldn't agree to some stuff that they did to their cars either! You have a clean car man...nice ride!

I cant imagine how hidious 22's would be, but those 20's do still look good. I agree if you could muster a 1 inch drop, it would look killer.

Altho 20's i agree is on the large side, 20's and low pro's over 15's and ballon tires any day!

I don't know...first I said, good from far, then far from good, but IF you could drop the ride height a bit, put some fatter / wider rubber in back then maybe 22's wouldn't be all that bad. Here in CT I wouldn't go over 17" because our roads in alot of places lick ballz.

Thats one clean IROC, but yeah it needs a suspension drop or air bags hehehe. Look at Roastedchicken his bird is sick with 20's & a drop. It may be 20's but its tasteful & not godawful rims. Im gusseing its his weekend cruiser, cause gas mileage must suck*** . All in all that is a very clean car with tasteful rims.

Yes bigger brakes is one reason to put in bigger rims, but a larger wheel with a smaller sidewall tyre can also provide a performance advantage - it lets the supsension take care of the deflection, rather than a combination of the tyre sidewall and the suspension. Now obviously that is not all that needs to be considered and i'm not talking about 1/4 mile performance either (we Europeans like going round corners) but still, bigger brakes isnt the only reason for using a bigger wheel.

That said, i actually like the look, and i dont know understand how so many people on this board can get so childish when it comes to hating on other people who like to install bigger rims than "the norm"..

PS. Fun is NOT in a straight line!
