small updates on the iroc
the car has been stopped for quiet a while i was waiting for a good deal on a ls1 t56 to get rid of the t5 set up.. i found a mn12 t56 gto trans for a reasonable price and adapted it to my sbc and 4th gen diff.
everyone said it wasnt posible.. some said it was with a lt1 set up ..i chose to stick with the ls1 tranny for future prefence of a nother engine build.
im using the mcleod bellhousing with few mods on the spacer that it comes with looks difficult but its not... im using the 4th gen pedals. 4th gen hydraulics = slave and master cylinder. ooh and a t5 clutch ..and t5 starter. yes no drilling on the block or such thing..
this set up runs smooth.. im using the 4th gen driveshaft and stock 4th gen diff. i had a hawks ls1 trans member and i just had to do few drill mods for the tranny mount.
the gear ratio on this tranny is pretty fun. i just need to find a better tranny mount im currently using the gm gto mount but i need something stiffer or stronger.
i was using the stock gto shifter and replaced it with a b&m because it was placed too far back and my 4th gen console was placed wrong.
it was a pretty easy project . the whole bleeding the hydraulic line is the hardest. .
as appearance
i upgraded my h4s with 8k hid system and headlight covers.. and wider kdws out back and a llight coat of black and gloss on my tail lights.
looking towards bigger brakes in the front.. maybe the c6 rims or aluminum finished faced rims.. 4th gen seats and full suspension following a lsx block for the future

Cool. Where did you get that adapter that goes between the bell housing and the transmission?

Nice setup. I am going to be doin this trans conversion. I have a few questions. I have the 3rd gen rear. Can I still use my stock torque arm and what crossmember do you recomend? If I change the input shaft will I still need the spacer and finally can I use this with a LT1 bellhousing?

I like the rims. One of the pics with rims reminds me of a vw corrado.

yeah u could use the stock torque arm... u can fabircate your custom crossmember or use the after markets.. the lt1 t56 appears to be less expensive and is a direct swap yet the ls1 t56 is a lot stronger.
